Columbia Sussex Management is currently looking for a dynamic National Group Sales Manager to complement our existing team at the Marriott Sanibel Harbor Resort and Spa. With a full property redesign scheduled to be completed in 2020 our hotel will offer 347 hotel rooms over 50,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, 3 restaurants, the Sanibel Princess yacht and a full-service spa on the San Carlos Bay.
Our new team member will have the drive for proactive selling, solicitation along with building / maintaining relationships. Candidates will be utilizing systems of Marriott CI-TY, Cvent, Starcite, and Microsoft Office.
- Previous hotel sales experience required, Marriott experience preferred.
- Move throughout property to conduct site inspections. Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current and potential clients.
- Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Coordinate various departments participation in servicing accounts.
- Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
- Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel and review competition.
- Travel to represent the resort at trade shows.
- Excels at proactive selling. Targets group accounts, markets, or segments with heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation. Proactively identifies qualifies and solicits new business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals. Focus is group accounts with large potential sales revenue.
- Candidates must have 2-3 years experience in Hotel Sales with proven track record of booking business.
- Strong background in selling hotel rooms,F&B, Catering, Meeting rooms, and thorough knowledge of sales techniques.
- Ability to maintain consistent verbal and written communication with clients.
- Must be able to work effectively with operations sand sales team.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
