Front-End Developer

Location: Chengdu, China

Reports To: Director of Engineering and Operations, China

Position Summary:

We are looking for a talented Front-End Developer that enjoys working on multiple challenges simultaneously and loves solving complex problems. Each day brings a new set of interesting hurdles, and we are looking for team-mates that thrive in a fun, fast-moving, and challenging environment. You will participate in the entire development lifecycle, help to shape and refine requirements, own the design for your components, and write the code to implement important new capabilities we are adding to our product. You should be both a strong individual contributor and leader, able to assume responsibility for Aktana’s overall product architecture and operations process. This position requires rock solid front-end, architecture and component development skills with a passion about user experiences. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Architect, mentor and develop user interfaces infrastructure to help power our next generation desktop and mobile user experiences.
• Value team excellence over individual productivity.
• Collaborate effectively with our Backend development team, UX and Product Management to help shape our APIs and product design.
• Have a passion for delivering high-quality product and services and writing clean, solid, readable code that scales and performs well.
• Design and develop test cases and implement automated test suites.
• Contribute to the analysis and refinement of functional requirements.
• Participate and promote architectural initiatives, balancing long-term velocity with short-term customer needs.
• Consider localization, scalability, and ease of maintenance in all solutions.
• Work with off-shore resources as necessary.
• Proven and demonstrable track record of being a top performer in current and past roles
• Front-end programming skills including expert-level JavaScript, CSS and CSS-preprocessors, DOM, AJAX, HTML5, and cross-browser and device development
• Experience using ReactJS, Flux, Redux, Relay/GraphQL, ReactNative.
• Familiar with other modern JavaScript frameworks such as Backbone, jQuery, or AngularJS
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented design and programming concepts

Required Experience & Skillset:

• Knowledge and experience of multiple environments, patterns and languages, in Java or Python
• Working experiences with SQL, XML and JSON
• Experience with CRM or other sales automation applications a plus

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Desired Skills

• Good understanding of usability and visual design principles
• Experience building Software as a Service (SaaS) applications
• Experience using a server-side web framework such as express / node.js
• Experience with agile software development and test-driven development methodologies

Education:

BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related fields and/or equivalent work experience.
