Function

Reporting directly to the Front Office Manager the successful candidate is responsible to control and follow up on current accounts for the Front Office and Reservations department,  to perform an administrative and support function within the Front Office which will include assisting with guest related preparations for both groups and individual guests as well as maintain the quality and standards of the Westin Cape Town within a pressurized environment and in accordance with Marriott International Policies and Procedures.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • An appropriate recognised qualification would be advantageous

  • At least 2 – 3 years’ experience in a similar position within a Hotel environment.

  • Sound understanding of the Reservations and Front Office operations

  • Knowledge of Micros Opera

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages

  • Flexible working hours / shift work required over weekends and public holidays as per operational requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily liaison with hotel guest and clients

  • Good understanding of current accounts

  • Basic knowledge of Starwood Billing

  • Knowledge of GXP and Marriott Bonvoy Links

  • Marriott Bonvoy redemptions

  • Assist on the Front Desk as and when required

  • Perform other duties as and when required

  • Preference will be given to South African citizens 

  • Professional and friendly disposition

  • Strong administrative skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills  

  • Quality and customer service driven

  • Ability to use Initiative and be proactive and self-driven

  • Good planning and organizing skills to meet deadlines as well as attention to detail with regards to operational requirements and administration.

  • Ability to work without supervision and within a team as well as on your own

  • Attention to detail pertaining to area of responsibility
