Job Description:
eChinacities.com is currently recruiting a full-time English editor to join its team in the Beijing office, preferably to start work immediately. Candidates should be highly motivated and dedicated to joining our hard-working team. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of Chinese culture, be outgoing and have a keen interest in online media, especially in China. If you are passionate about pursuing a career in the editing/writing field and meet the requirements below, we want to hear from you!
-Identify and generate interesting, original, SEO friendly content for the website and meet KPI targets
-Edit, polish, proofread, write, review and assess content
-Moderate user-generated content and work closely with the editing and tech team to promote user participation
-Social media advertising on Western and Chinese websites
-Identify issues and trends in the social media space in China
Qualifications and Requirements:
-Native English speaker
-Minimum one year (demonstrated) editing/writing experience
-A minimum one year of living experiences in China, preferably in Beijing
-University degree
-Outstanding skills in written and spoken English
-Excellent communication skills
-IT skills and keen interest in the web highly desirable
-Keen interest in local culture and entertainment
-Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
-Experience and/or qualifications in journalism preferred
-Proficiency in mandarin an asset in consideration
