About Role:
As part of the HPC server team, this electrical engineer is expect to work
with peer functions as a team to development the leading edge Lenovo high
performance computer offerings. As a Function Test Engineer in Taipei/Taiwan,
you apply your knowledge and skills to solve complex business issues.
Frequently contribute to the development of new ideas and methods. Work on
complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth
evaluation of multiple factors. Lead and/or provide expertise to functional
project teams and participate in cross-functional initiatives. Contribute to
process improvements and establishing policies.
You will work in an exciting, high profile, team-oriented, and fast-paced
environment. You will have excellent opportunities to develop, learn and gain
a wide breadth of experience and skills.
Responsibilities
• Software knowledge of each ECAT card sub-system (Power/UPI/CPU/Memory/VPD
etc.) so test scripts can be written/verified ensuring all function of the
card is tested.
• Provides analysis of whether existing test technologies are adequate to
support the product and find alternatives if they are not.
• Defining to the supplier all test requirements in a test specification.
• Performing DFT during the design phases and inputting required changes to
insure the product can be adequately tested.
• Providing the TPM with a schedule and any hardware requirements necessary to
successfully implement the required tests at the ECAT suppliers.
• Providing regular input to the TPM that reflects the status, problems and
schedule adherence.
• Approving the supplier provided test plan.
• Advising the TPM of any new test equipment that may be required due to the
specific product definition and of the implementation plan including
qualification and schedule.
• Assuring test equivalency if multiple suppliers are used.
• Provides post GA support as required
#### Position Requirements:
Position Requirements
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineer or related field
• Typically 5+ years experience to a hardware test capacity
• Familiar with modern computer architecture, development cycles, and
debugging tools
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to create functional test plans based on product specifications and
test strategy
• Proficient in reading and understanding technical data sheets
• Experience in working with ODMs, and suppliers to drive root cause analysis,
corrective actions and continuous process improvements
• Excellent English and Mandarin Chinese communication skills, both verbal and
written
Preferred Requirements
• Understanding of the latest computer server architecture and computer
components
• Knowledge of HW, FW, BIOS, OS
