As a GBS Operational Buyer, you are responsible to manage purchase orders placed on behalf of Markets to suppliers for third party medical devices, overseeing and coordinating the purchase order management process through proactive collaboration with other internal and external Supply Chain functions. You will develop relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Furthermore, you are responsible for executing all purchase order processing activities in SAP and other supporting applications, including order changes due to customer or supplier requests.
Responsibilities:
Placing purchase orders to suppliers, communicate delivery dates and check if goods are shipped and delivered on time. (regular activity)
Manage additional process steps for EU-MDR regulated medical devices, such as providing the supplier with specific documents enabling the verification inspection process, following up on pre-alerts (Advanced Shipping Notifications) sent by suppliers, and creating verification records in SAP. (customized template from supplier, pre-alert message - advanced shipment notification, verification record created in SAP, approvals, etc.)
Ensuring compliance to EU-MDR regulation and manage escalations effectively. (when the process does not go as planned/prescribed by Philips, avoid severe consequences e.g. not receiving products, blocked shipments, etc.)
Ensuring compliance to ICS (Internal Control Standards), SOX compliance (Sarbanes Oxley legislation) and Export Control. (regular activity)
Archiving documents related to customers and countries according to local legislation.
Pro-active communication to (internal) customers in a clear and customer centric way.
Respond pro-actively to missing items (MOA) or dead on arrival (DOA) claims by using assigned tools. . (regular activity)
Escalating prompt to Team Lead when problems are not solved in time and could negatively impact delivery. (see point 3)
Together with team members continuously implement improvements through Lean tooling and disciplines.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain management / Business Administration / Logistics / Industrial Engineering or the equivalent
1 to 3 years’ experience in an operational environment as an Operational Buyer + Order Management is highly required
Excellent English communications skills, both in word and in writing
Advanced knowledge of SAP is highly required
