  • Independently supports the management and oversight for the various facilities portfolios within the Global Facilities Operations (GFO) organization in Thousand Oaks, CA.

  • Supports clients as a dedicated customer advocate and single point of accountability/contact for facility services provided by GFO. Frequently interacts with clients’ and/or functional peer group managers.

  • Supports the oversight of site facilities, asset management, and maintenance programs in conjunction with Integrated Service Providers (ISP) including Integrated Facility Management (IFM), Food Services, Lab Support Services (LSS), Lab Asset Management (LAMP), and Maintenance, Repair & Operate (MRO)

  • Ensure ISPs delivers on scope of work for ATO and monitors Service Level Agreements to ensure compliance. Provides consistent approach and escalation path for managing ISPs.

  • Supports site-wide infrastructure and tenant improvement projects, ranging from improving operational efficiency to ensuring that facilities meet governmental regulations and Amgen standards.

  • Supports the development of capital project planning and administration and ensures successful implementation of project objectives.

  • Supports benchmarking for facilities operational parameters, monitoring employee satisfaction with work environment, space-utilization, and risk management issues.

  • • All work to be completed to assure minimal impact to production and compliance with all cGMP guidelines and Amgen procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with Amgen’s Integrated Service Providers, ensuring safe, compliant, and optimal operations at the Amgen Thousand Oaks

  • Supports the development and implementation of the Global Lifecycle Asset Management program (GLAM) and associated infrastructure

  • Translates client needs and initiative into GFO and/or Engineering objectives, programs, and projects.

  • Supports the development of facilities management plans and strategies to manage facility assets and real estate property.

  • Ensures consistent management and maintenance practices throughout the facility in regard to facilities maintenance and appearance.

  • Partners with ISPs to deliver on scope of work and monitors service level agreements to ensure compliance.

  • Follows consistent approach and critical issue path to portfolio facility managers as needed

  • Partners with Compliance and Quality Assurance to ensure the facilities portfolio and operational practices are in alliance with the corporate compliance commitments.

  • Demonstrate commitment to Safety and Compliance

  • Supports capital project planning and administration and ensures successful implementation of project objectives

  • Supports GFO as a representative during inspections by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) agencies, insurance companies, and assists during compliance inspections.

  • Communicates with clients to ensure uninterrupted business activities are minimized with little to no impact

  • Participates in Amgen’s business continuity, emergency response/recover operations exercises

  • Supports emergency related events where GFO support is needed

Basic Qualifications

Master’s degree 
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of management, engineering, maintenance, or another related field
OR 
Associate’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience 
OR  
High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Project Management experience 

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in engineering and/or facilities management in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in defining, scoping and managing capital construction projects

  • Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain effective teams across multiple sites and regions.

  • Ability to build strong client relationships with a client focused management style.

  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to effectively influence cross-functionally and across multiple levels of the organization.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex tasks.

  • Solid understanding of continuous improvement and operational excellence methods and standard methodologies

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
