GFS Performance Measurement and Inventory Accounting Super User (18-month opportunity)

Job Description

GFS Super User for Performance Measurement and Inventory Accounting for a global Manufacturing Accounting Project, where the key objective is to improve and standardise the end-to-end manufacturing accounting processes, delivering more granular level of details to enable better decision making.

This role will be the key point of contact between the project team, the Performance Measurement and Inventory Accounting Business Process Leads, Embedded Finance and the GFS organisation, for all of AZ's new functional global processes and policies in manufacturing performance measurement.

The processes in-scope include the following:

  • Actual Product Costing​

  • Variance Deferral​

  • Inventory Provisions and Write offs​

  • Inventory Revaluation​

  • Intercompany Profit​

  • Stock in Transit​

  • Variance Reporting and Analysis​

  • Product Performance Reporting​

  • Site/Region/Global Performance Reports​

To be successful candidates will need to have experience in working with shared service centre organisation, designing best practise performance measurement and inventory accounting processes in pharma industry, solid working knowledge of SAP & BI, influencing capabilities, change management capability and ability to lead a team.

Typical Accountabilities

  • Be the key focal point between the project team, the Performance Measurement and Inventory Accounting Process Leads and the GFS organisation

  • Support the Performance Measurement and Inventory Accounting Leads in capturing and documenting as-is regional performance measurement processes, identifying weak spots and opportunities for standardisation, paying attention to:

- Regional or country specific exceptions

- Regional or country specific Tax, legal and statutory requirements

- Business critical exceptions, which must be supported by value materiality and transactions volume

  • Assist the Performance Measurement Process and Inventory Accounting Leads in designing, building and implementing standardised best practise global performance measurement processes delivering efficiency and effectiveness

  • Support the GFS Leads in adopting standard global Performance Measurement and Inventory processes & policies to ensure regional compliance

  • Assist the Performance Measurement Process and Inventory Accounting Leads in defending and driving the adoption of global performance measurement and inventory accounting processes, approving deviations or localisation only where there is valid and approved justification reasons for:

- Tax

- Legal

- Statutory

  • Contribute and validate in the design of integrated and standardised Inventory and Performance Measurement SAP & BI system configurations

  • Write work instructions related to GFS piece

  • Work closely with MAP resources on site to implement a successful project design solution and move into BAU

  • Provide input into Performance Measurement and Inventory accounting processes related communications and training materials

  • Partake in Performance Measurement and Inventory accounting Train the Trainer (TTT) training and deliver end-user training sessions

  • Partake in Performance Measurement and Inventory accounting UAT and validate test results

  • Assist where possible, in the resolution of testing defects in Performance Measurement and Inventory accounting

  • Be the GFS and Regional change champion and assisting in the governance of change management

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification

  • Expert in Inventory Accounting and Performance management with best practise standards in pharma industry

  • Proven solid working knowledge of SAP and BI

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects/tasks effectively

  • Solid understanding of operation finance and accounting principles

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills

  • Experience of implementing significant business change across different national and business boundaries

  • Up to date knowledge of developments within the wider Finance function and understanding of how changes may affect the function (or be leveraged to drive continuous improvement). 

  • Ideal candidates will have specific pharma industry and process experience including benchmarking

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Oral and written fluency in Business English

  • Ability to use a range of influencing techniques

Desirable

  • Broad process experience (development, management and application of)

  • Significant work experience in relevant functional area

  • Specific Expert knowledge in specialist process area

  • Oral and written fluency in other European languages, in particular Spanish or Mandarin

  • Demonstrated success working in a team environment

  • Demonstrated success building cross-functional global networks and stakeholder management
