Job Description

GFS Super User for Product Cost Accounting for a global Manufacturing Accounting Project (MAP), where the key objective is to improve and standardise the end-to-end manufacturing accounting processes, delivering more granular level of details to enable better decision making. The project will be implemented in AZ EMEA sites as part of Wave 3 delivery.

This role will be the key point of contact between the project team, the Standard Costing Business Process Lead, Embedded Finance and the GFS organisation, for all of AZ's new functional global processes and policies in manufacturing standard product cost accounting.

The processes in-scope include the following:

  • Master Data​

  • Procurement Pricing​

  • Planned Activity Prices​

  • Planned Overhead Allocations​

  • Full Manufacturing Cost​

  • Group Cost​

To be successful candidates will need to have experience in working with shared service centre organisation, designing best practise inventory and product cost accounting processes in pharma industry, solid working knowledge of SAP & BI, influencing capabilities, change management capability and ability to lead a team.

Typical Accountabilities

The role will:

  • Be the key focal point between the project team, Standard Product Costing Process Lead and the GFS organisation

  • Support the Standard Product Costing Process Lead in capturing and documenting as-is regional Product Cost accounting processes, identifying weak spots and opportunities for standardisation, paying attention to:

  • Regional or country specific exceptions

  • Regional or country specific Tax, legal and statutory requirements

  • Business critical exceptions, which must be supported by value materiality and transactions volume

  • Assist the Standard Product Costing Process Lead in designing, building, and implementing standardised best practise global inventory accounting processes delivering efficiency and effectiveness

  • Support the GFS Leads in adopting standard global Product Cost accounting processes & policies to ensure regional compliance

  • Assist the Standard Product Costing Process Lead in defending and driving the adoption of Product Costing processes, approving deviations or localisation only where there is valid and approved justification reasons for:

  • Tax

  • Legal

  • Statutory

  • Contribute and validate in the design of integrated and standardised Product Cost accounting SAP & BI system configurations

  • Provide input into Product Cost accounting processes related communications and training materials

  • Write work instructions related to GFS piece

  • Work closely with MAP resources on site to implement a successful project design solution and move into BAU

  • Partake in Product Cost accounting Train the Trainer (TTT) training and deliver end-user training sessions

  • Partake in Product Cost accounting UAT and validate test results

  • Assist where possible, in the resolution of testing defects in Product Cost accounting

  • Be the GFS and Regional change champion and assisting in the governance of change management

Essential

  • Expert in Standard Product Costing accounting with best practise standards in pharma industry

  • Proven solid working knowledge of SAP and BI

  • Solid understanding of operation finance and accounting principles

  • Experience of implementing significant business change across different national and business boundaries

  • Up to date knowledge of developments within the wider Finance function and understanding how changes may affect the function (or be leveraged to drive continuous improvement)

  • Oral and written fluency in Business English

Desirable

  • Broad process experience (development, management and application of)

  • Significant work experience in finance function

  • Understanding of forecasting and budgeting process

  • Specific Expert knowledge in specialist process area

  • Ability to work well in and across diverse global teams

  • Great work organization and ability to work under time pressure

  • High degree of accuracy with attention to detail
