Job Description
Job Summary The Global Trade Management (GTM) Center of Excellence (CoE) Classification Analyst is responsible HTS Code determination for finish goods and components of all Sectors. This position requires a professional with good working knowledge and experience in U.S., Mexican an Canadian Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), as well as good technical product understanding to ensure that import and/or export trade transactions operate smoothly and are following customs regulations as well as maintain thorough and current knowledge of international trade laws and regulations applicable to the activities of the various business units. Research products to ensure timely and accurate U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Schedule B. The major roles of the Global Trade Management (GTM) Analyst are to maintain and update compliance documents to reflect current regulatory requirements and procedures. The GTM Analyst reports to the GTM Team Leader. Within the responsibility of project HTS codes delivery, the GTM Analyst performs import and export classification under the Harmonized Tariff System based on deeply technical analysis. Job Responsibilities Execute HS Determination ensuring all necessary documentation and technical support retained to full compliance with the applicable international laws; Ability to fully explain the general rules of interpretation, detailing why a HS Code was determined. Carry out Classification projects, to deliver them on time and enhance communication with GTM Managers and businesses to communicate regular status or needs to avoid any lack of technical support or detail Prepare all documentation needed to assist with Pre and Post Entry activities such as CF28, CF29, when mismatches or clarification on HS interpretation is requested by authorities. Lead HS Mismatches and technical discussions with vendors, brokers or suppliers when a different criterion is identified Identify situations and events where formal communication is necessary; works with others to consider communication approaches; assists in the development of messaging. Conduct projects and meetings with GTM Coordinators and stakeholders in order to review project progress and participate in an active matter Demonstrates a high knowledge in Mexican and US Customs regulations. Able to provide advisory to businesses when needed Performed the classification analysis by following all processes and procedures to avoid any compliance risk that affect the divisions. Qualifications Qualifications Education level required: Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred education level: Three to Seven years In Trade Compliance experience, depending on the SB desired. Technical knowledge/Soft Skills: This experience should include proficiency in Classification skills and solid knowledge of the General Rules of Interpretation of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), must be able to demonstrate proficiency in US and Mexican customs regulations as well as other government agency regulations. Excellent knowledge of U.S. and Mexican Government Import Regulations, including knowledge of HTS classification rules and valuation laws. Must be able to provide advisory in terms of Customs classifications Bachelor’s degree required. Fluent English Microsoft Suite skills required SAP-GTS medium level. Soft skills: Career oriented. Team player, able to work in a close team setting. Possess excellent organization skills. Possess exceptional analytical skills. Able to work within tight time constraints.
