Job Description
Job Summary Maintain a strong knowledge of the laws and regulations related to Foreign Trade. It is responsible for reviewing Customs Compliance for legal entities that carry out foreign trade operations in Eaton Mexico, through the execution of internal audits, and electronic audits of pedimentos, to identify potential risks, areas of opportunity, as well as the amounts of surcharges, fines, and potential savings. The incumbent will be responsible for following up with the leaders of each site to close findings and actions. The position is responsible for monitoring the report results of the BOT, which obtains the compliance tax opinions from national vendors, as well as establishing continuous communication with them to provide training aimed at getting and sending the document. Determine specific plans for obtaining compliance tax opinions and conduct analysis to identify high-risk vendors. The incumbent must know the Non-Tariff Regulations and Restrictions and the different formalities and procedures for obtaining permits, automatic notices, certificates, and others to comply with them. The position is also responsible for developing, implementing, and governing: work instructions, processes, procedures, and policies needed for customs compliance, as well as providing continuity and developing metrics or KPIs to measure the effectiveness of operations. Job Responsibilities Perform electronic audits of pedimentos and keep each site's profiles updated. Evaluate processes to identify opportunity areas to reduce risks and/or costs related to the import and export operation. Provide consulting and training to the sites in the event of any doubt regarding Customs Compliance. Present audit results to generate action plans and follow-up at the closing of findings. Execute internal Customs Compliance Audits based on the corresponding legal framework. Analyze and complete the current active national vendors database to request compliance opinions. Be the point of contact with the vendors in Mexico that send the tax compliance opinion to support and provide training for the correct submission of the opinion. Perform analysis of the results of tax compliance opinions to identify high-risk suppliers. Validate compliance tax opinions to approve new suppliers and block or unblock vendors identified as high-risk. Keep metrics and KPIs updated to measure the effectiveness of operations. Maintain a clean and safe work environment that meets all Eaton safety standards, life-saving rules, and daily 5S+ requirements to help build a culture of zero incidents. Perform all job functions consistent with Eaton's philosophy and values. Qualifications Qualifications Education level required: Bachelor’s degree required. Years and area of experience required: 4 to 5 years of experience of customs compliance experience. Demonstrated competence in the customs regulations of Mexico. Technical Knowledge: Experience in Trade Management ensuring compliance in the areas of import regulations, corporate policies, and best management practices. Strong knowledge of laws and regulations related to foreign trade, IMMEX program, PROSEC, and AEO & VAT Certifications. Fluent in English. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel audit formulas). Strategic planning to ensure Customs Compliance. Root cause analysis.
