IGG is looking for a Game Localization Specialist/ Senior Game Localization Specialist to join the Singapore Team to develop high quality Mobile game titles.

This is a permanent position based in Singapore, and requires working onsite.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Translate, proofread, edit, and revise all text used by IGG games: content, news, promotions, guides, events, etc., from Chinese to English (and vice versa).
  • Localize all text used by IGG games for the appropriate countries and regions.
  • Write creative copy for publication on various platforms in both English and Chinese, including headlines, slogans, captions, and other marketing materials.

Qualifications

Who we are looking for

  • You have at least 3 years of working experience in translation, localization, or editing.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics/Languages, Communications, Multimedia, Game studies, or other relevant fields.
  • You have a professional knowledge of mobile games, particularly what terms are used in them and how they are phrased.
  • Your English grammar is perfect, you can navigate archaic turns of phrase with ease, and your vocabulary can impress at least one other person.
  • You are able to communicate fluently in both Chinese and English, both verbally and in writing, in any and all settings.
  • You are the meticulous sort, with a keen eye for detail and an inquiring mind; you care about the difference between 'desert' and 'dessert', 'calvary' and 'cavalry', ‘humor' and 'humour'.
  • You delight in explaining why “Police police Police police police police Police police.” is a grammatically correct sentence in English.
  • You are a gamer, or at least have a working knowledge of games, or at the very least are eager to learn about games.

 

Requirements (you must have at least one of the following)

  • Aside from Chinese and English, you are fluent in at least one other language.
  • You have experience working with global translation vendors.
  • You have story-writing experience.
  • You have experience working with CAT tools.
  • You have an in-depth knowledge of IGG games.
  • You play mobile games; PC and console games will also be a plus, but we are mainly looking at mobile games.
