FE – TECH ASSISTANT

OBJECTIVES:

? This is to support the UK Technologist on the UK Accounts and to eliminate the day to day work in the UK which can be done at source prior to sending samples.

? Develop and build key relationships to enable the swift execution of critical path timelines.

? UK Tech to support the Tech Assistant or any requirements and FE Tech Manager to manage the development and training of FE Techs with UK Techs on proposed FE trips.

? Work towards achieving set KPI’s from annual 360 with FE Technical Manager.

PROCESS:

On Receipt of IOC from UK Account Manager:

? Support the UK Tech in requesting all relevant information to start the PP process.

? Locate and work with any copy or shared customer samples for fitting and sizing etc..under the guidance of the UK Tech.

(PO’s will be raised by UK Merchandiser, who will copy relevant FE Merchandiser)

? Work alongside the FE Merch team for any specialised packaging and sample submissions with any pre-production or sealing samples required by the UK.

? Actively input the Critical Path, and submit to UK team weekly.

(UK Merchandiser and UK Tech will chair a weekly Critical Path meeting. Following the meeting, an exceptions report will need to be issued to FE Technical / Merch & UK Acc Mgt Team. )

The Tech Assistants key role is to co-ordinate all areas of pre-production, and ensuring that Technical / Quality departments are achieving CP Dates, all of the following points need to monitored and closely controlled for the UK Technical team.

FUNCTIONS:

? Develop long term partnerships with key factories and visit the supply base on a regular basis.

? Be familiar with and practice customer WOW and quality standards at all times.

? Work closely with UK Technologist to ensure any new customer procedures and quality standards are followed.

? Complete critical path events and adhere to the timelines given.

? Risk assess products at development stage and throughout the process under the guidance with the UK Tech.

? Follow-Up with the factories on any UK sent Fitting comments / products, sending accurate fit comments with any supporting Technical diagrams and photos to suppliers.

? Keeping workbooks up-to-date when requested.

? Ensuring production is at a high standard.

? Support the FE Testing team for any new requirements. Learn and understanding so we comply.

? Work alongside the Hub Techs and the Quality manager for any Technical training.

Responsibilities:

• Provide Technical support to UK Technologist/ FE QC team, factory and buyer regarding sample fitting, knitting, and costume, accessory production matters.
• Review income sample vs Tech pack , prepare sample comments and forward correct sample to buyer for approval.
• Review sample comments and tech pack to understand buyer requirement or clarify any discrepancy.
• Conduct PP meeting with factory if needed.

Requirements:

• Degree in textile or related discipline
• Over 2year relevant experience in garment fitting, construction.
• Knowledge fitting, knitting pattern, grading, construction and manufacturing process is necessary.
• Factory production experience will be advantaged.
• Good English communication skill.
