General Counsel, Region Asia

Job Summary

Support Coloplast Region Asia (CRA) with legal advice to ensure CRA reaches its growth objectives according to the Coloplast Agenda. This covers legal support to the following markets: China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and Singapore.

Enable better business decisions by acting as a trusted advisor and sparring partner who serve as a center of expertise within Coloplast’s key business areas. Ensure the continued freedom to operate through proactively identifying, monitoring and mitigating risks and creating transparency regarding legal risks.

Provide tailored solutions which reflects a balanced approach between business objectives and the legal framework. Support the business in complex agreements and business transactions.

Design, draft and implement policies, template agreements and legal training programs.

Support the business in identifying, designing and implementing new business opportunities.

Leading the Legal department for Region Asia and managing external legal counsels and ensure strict governance on external legal spend.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Serve as primary legal contact and provide legal assistance and service to Coloplast senior management
• Draft, review and negotiate complex legal agreements
• Support senior management in identifying new business opportunities
• Draft and implement policies and training programs and ensure senior management is aware of current on legislative issues, statutes and decisions as well as industry standards
• Support Business Ethics, Region Asia with legal advice
• Manage lawsuit and investigations
• Manage an internal legal team
  

Job Requirements

• Bar examination
• Minimum 5-7 years’ experience at a major law firm and/or corporate in-house department within the medtec/healthcare sector
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Strong presentation and training skills
• Excellent English
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage numerous matters simultaneously
• Strong image and presence with the ability to inspire confidence from management
• Strong customer/client service skills
• Familiar with issues within the healthcare space
• Must be self-directed and well-organized
• Strong coordination and interpersonal skills
