As a leading hotel in the luxury market, Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills is looking for a General Maintenance Engineer to join their amazing Team!

This Forbes 5-Star hotel has 170 rooms, an award-winning Forbes 5-Star Spa, 6,300 square feet of banquet space, and 4 food and beverage outlets. This includes 2 Jean-Georges concepted restaurants, lobby lounge, and in-room dining.

  • Classification: Full-Time
  • Shift: Various - full availability to include days, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays is required.

 As an Engineer, you would be responsible for maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the facility in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Maintain the physical functionality and safety of the facility including, but not limited to, guest rooms, public space and heart-of-the-house areas
  • Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery and/or equipment
  • Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks including, but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, HVAC work and masonry
  • Conduct inspections for preventive maintenance needs
  • Record and report completed repairs and items that require further attention.

Requirements:

  • 5 years’ experience as a general maintenance engineer in a hotel environment/commercial building
  • Able to push pull and lift 50-100 lbs
  • Able to stand for 8 hours
  • Ability to work all shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays)
  • Knowledge of all maintenance trades, including basic electrical (up to 208 volts), plumbing, & mechanical
  • Fluency in English
  • Mathematical skills
  • Professional presentation
  • You should be able to communicate effectively, maximize resources, and adhere to strict health and safety regulations.
  • A flexible approach is imperative to the ever-changing demands of the department.
  • Be able to demonstrate the highest level of hospitality and professionalism.
  • You will be able to maintain excellent working relationships with your department and hotel colleagues.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous luxury hotel experience preferred
  • Have a Universal 608 refrigeration certification
  • Have a Los Angeles CPO Certification
  • Welding experience
  • Strong preference for candidates with additional language skills in German, French, Spanish, Arabic, Japanese, Korean or Chinese

Pay Range: The hourly rate is $39.46 per hour and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
