Job Description

Primary Role:

To manage the existing business of CBIP Logistics – oversee customers, operations and supplier relationships in Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, China, Australia and manage staff across Hong Kong, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Be the primary account contact for Platinum clients and identify areas to improve and expand the existing business.

 

Job Specifics:

1. To oversee customers, operations, and supplier relationships:

  • Oversee the operations of 20 customer relationships across Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, and Australia.
  • Provide ongoing support to your direct reports in managing their customer portfolios.
  • Arrange monthly meetings with all customers and suppliers to review the previous month’s performance, identify key areas for improvement and focus for the month ahead.
  • Responsible for all contract management - both renewing and new agreements, + full management of the Profit & Loss, and ensuring all invoices and bills are sent and received / settled on time.

2. Manage staff

  • Manage staff across Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Philippines to ensure the team has sufficient support for their customers, operations, and supplier relationships.
  • Provide hands-on support when staff are on annual leave, sick, or as required.
  • Analysing trends in the business, industry, and geographies to formulate strategies to grow the business in to a truly world-leading logistics operator.
  • Set annual Key Performance Indicators for the team, have regular 1-1 discussions with each team member to explain and monitor these KPIs throughout the year, and conduct formal mid-year and year-end KPI discussions.
  • Assist in meeting the CBIP company targets and upholding the CBIP values in everything we do.
  • Keep key internal stakeholders up-to-date with company performance.

3. Be the primary account contact for Platinum clients

  • Be the primary contact point for the Platinum portfolio of clients in Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Taiwan, with the support of an Account Manager.
  • Be responsible for and oversee the sub-contractor carrier relationship, liaising with the customer and their colleagues for any questions they have.

4. Identify areas to improve the customer portfolio

  • Identify areas of opportunity across your Platinum customer portfolio and your direct report’s portfolios to increase revenue, decrease cost, and improve performance across the company portfolio.
  • Identify areas of improvement in technology that the business doesn’t currently have.

5. Assist in expanding the business

  • Identify sales opportunities within the existing portfolio of clients – new market opportunities and new products within existing markets.
  • Identify sales opportunities with new customers to CBIP Logistics.
  • Support Directors: Assisting the Directors on new business opportunities, with a primary focus on implementing the scope of work for new clients, liaising directly with both the client and the carrier, through to the start of a trial period (if required) or straight through to the formal commencement date of the new work.

 

Requirements:

  • Current and valid Hong Kong visa
  • Languages: English, Cantonese (required) and Mandarin (preferably)
  • Experience: 10-years+ Logistics experience required, General Manager (or equivalent) experience is required.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-point, and WMS systems.
  • Ability to lead, motivate staff, have an eye for detail, and proven experience in managing customer relationships. 
  • Office Location: Sheung Wan, Hong Kong
  • Salary: HKD 25-40,000/month
  • Benefits: Year-end discretionary bonus, Medical Plan, MPF.
  • Start date: January / February 2020
