Extension and Continuing Education for Life (EXCEL) is an arm of the Academy that offers high quality life-long learning programmes in the performing arts promoting engagement and creativity through enhancing arts literacy and appreciation. EXCEL also offers custom-made professional training programmes for corporate and government clients, and the production of corporate events that require performing arts content.
The postholder will work closely with the General Manager of EXCEL, and report to the Deputy Director and Provost and Vice Chairman of the Board of EXCEL of the Academy. He/She will assume a leadership role in accredited programme management, administration, and development at appropriate programme levels pertaining to EXCEL’s future academic development. The scope of duties will include programme design and development, course promotion and marketing, day-to-day programme administration, coordination and liaison with partner institutions, students, and teachers, and developing partnerships with corporate and professional bodies.
Required Qualifications:
The applicants should possess a Master’s degree, with at least 10 years’ relevant experience in the area of contemporary performing arts education, such as jazz/pop music, musical theatre or popular dance genres. Preference will be given to those with a strong track record of programme development and experience in programme management, and validation processes such as those of the HKCAAVQ. They should have demonstrable and strong leadership and supervisory skills, the capability to manage resources effectively, strong communication and interpersonal skills; and excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese/Putonghua).
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a 2-year contract. A gratuity payment equal up to 15% of basic salary earned during the contract period will be payable upon satisfactory completion of contract. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental benefits. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
