Job Description

Located  in a gated residential and golf development set on 400 hectares of land in the south of Spain, the hotel will comprise 326 keys including Villas .

Fairmont La Hacienda will allow guests to discover a luxury resort with a wide range of offerings such as five restaurants and bars, including a pool bar and a beach restaurant, as well as swimming pools. Furthermore, the hotel features an almost 2,000 square meter spa, fitness space and facilities, a 1,108 square meter ballroom and a selection of flexible meeting rooms.

The Position

Reporting into the RVP , the General Manager oversees the day to day operations of the hotel in accordance with company standards, mission statement, vision and values. The maximization of financial performance, guest satisfaction and Brand colleagues development is an integral part of the position. Furthermore it is essential to assist the Area General manager  in the development and communication of strategies, goals and objectives as well as the development, implementation and monitoring of financial and operational plans for the hotels while, managing, growing and fostering positive owner relations and maximizing performance.

Operations

  • Will work to establish a strong pre-opening team that will help to make the opening of the hotel an undeniable success
  • Directly supervise the Executive Committee members and indirectly supervise all hotel personnel
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and training programs
  • Act as an integer role model, displaying explicit knowledge and awareness of company standards
  • Build quality relationships to the management team
  • Create team spirit
  • Create effectively a collaborative and inclusive environment where all employees/colleagues are encouraged to provide input
  • Ensures good safety practices of employees and guests, assisting in the maintenance of proper emergency and security procedures

  • Maintain product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations
  • The attaining and maintenance of service levels that exceed expectations
  • All areas of the hotel consistently maintained to standards of attractiveness, comfort and cleanliness
  • Handles VIPs, understanding international protocols for government officials and royalty

  • Develops accurate and aggressive long and short-range financial objectives consistent with the Brand strategy
  • Growing business – A good overview of finances, think about the future and decide on strategic initiatives

  • Executes marketing, sales, and operational activities, producing results that meet or exceed the hotel’s business plan

Qualifications

  • Prior 10+ years experience in luxury hotel management essential
  • Strong Educational background
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Good understanding of the local market (previous experience preferred on Spanish Market)
  • Strong understanding of UK and German market
  • Experience in resort asset types, with hands on management of golf resorts highly advantageous
  • Highly skilled in managing owner/management company relationships
  • Must be strategic, creative, and able to clearly communicate how plans will deliver on overall goals
  • Excellent speaking and presentation skills
  • Strong financial knowledge with experience on building business cases to support strategic plans and re-development goals
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time and project management
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Adaptable and flexible with the capacity to set high goals and standards for the smooth operation of the hotel
  • Effective management style, hands-on and approachable
  • Bottom-line oriented with emphasis on quality guest-service and team-building
  • Commercial, media and marketing savvy
  • Proven track record leading award-winning F&B experiences and identifying new trends in F&B
