About the role


You will be responsible for the successful opening of the hotel, including but not limited to reviewing the pro-opening budget and keep the overall spending within the approved budget; setting up the long term strategy and short term tactics for the hotel to quickly ramp up after the opening; hiring a competent Management Team and reviewing the pre-opening manning from time to time; monitoring the opening progress and working with all parties concerned to make sure no milestone is missed till the opening of the hotel.


The responsibilities of a General Manager after the opening will include managing the daily hotel operations to achieve planned goals for operational integrity as measured by revenue, house profit, and RevPAR index while maintaining company standards for guest satisfaction, associate satisfaction, quality assurance, and asset protection. The General Manager will demonstrate leadership and professional image to associates, guests, sales accounts, local community representatives, vendors, and competitors.


Qualifications

We are looking for candidates that meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management or relevant major
  • 1-2 years GM experience or 3-4 years as Hotel Manager/Resident Manager or other No. 2 role in hotel management.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey information and ideas clearly, both oral and written, as well as effective listening skills to understand issues and work toward problem resolution
  • Intellectual ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from various sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
  • Financial acumen required to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic mathematical functions
  • Knowledgeable in a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and hotel management systems.
  • Drive for Results demonstrated through successful performance in prior leadership positions
  • Action oriented to work efficiently and effectively toward property revenue and operational objectives. Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Time Management skills to meet commitments across multiple departments and roles
  • Customer Focus to consistently deliver optimal associate and customer satisfaction for the hotel with proven success in guest service results/colleague satisfaction
  • preferably S&M background with knowledge of Guangdong area.
  • Mandarin speaking is a must.
