Eaton’s Corporate Division is currently seeking a Global Category Manager to join our team. Remote work is available. Position Overview: The Global Category Manager leads the development, management and oversight of standard supply chain processes and develops enterprise strategies through consensus building to implement enterprise-wide cost-effective improvements for Eaton. This position develops long term category strategic planning, creates category metrics and ensures category strategies are aligned, deployed and meet the requirements of Supply Chain Management across Eaton operations. Position is accountable for effectively implementing Eaton’s strategic plan and managing measurable results. In this function you will: Support development of strategic initiatives to facilitate cross-business synergies across a rationalized set of global and regional preferred supplier partners. Negotiate and manage key strategic supplier contracts and relationships. Review, approve, monitor and report compliance to category agreements and strategies based upon Eaton SCM strategic directions. Develop innovative business solutions, forecast commodity projections and provide mitigation actions as applicable to ensure key metrics for the procurement function (Cost Out, DPO, Diversity Spend, etc.) are achieved. Advise on new planning tools, methods, technical analysis, standards and procurement opportunities with senior management that are aligned with SCM/Eaton strategic plans and cost reduction initiatives. Benchmark procurement processes to develop and implement best practices throughout Eaton and Supply Chain Management. Ensure compliance of suppliers with Eaton SCM Sustainability Programs, Go GREEN initiatives and SCM policies. Plan, prepare and execute annual profit planning for the owned spend, and support execution with the business cross functional teams. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited institution is required. Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Position Criteria: Continuous Process Improvement: Oversees organizational and operational supply chain processes and ensures alignment with lean manufacturing principles. Sourcing, and Management: Directs the successful implementation of sourcing best practices for all activities involved in setting up and managing suppliers and internal Eaton networks. Intellectual Property Awareness: Models the standard expected by the organization when communicating and implementing licensure, disclosure and confidentiality agreements required to protect proprietary rights and information acquired or developed on behalf of Eaton. Market & Customer Knowledge: Utilizes expert knowledge to lead the organization in its investigation and analysis of national and global markets and application of purchasing and supplier management strategies; works through others to obtain analysis of competitor data for use in positively differentiating Eaton in the marketplace. Negotiation: Promotes the standards and benchmarks necessary to skillfully negotiate difficult and complex situations with internal customers and external suppliers; leverages his/her authority in a forceful yet diplomatic fashion in order to reach an agreement upon the terms and conditions surrounding a category purchase transaction. Supply Chain Continuity Planning: Establishes the organization’s risk management goals and directs his/her leadership team in the management of the process that controls, monitors, and evaluates supply chain risks. Total Cost Management: Translates organizational goals for the total cost of manufacturing, warehousing, and delivery of products to Eaton from suppliers to aid others in making sound sourcing decisions; establishes expectations for achieving cost control, cost reduction and cost containment targets of operational expenditures.
