Global Commodity Manager (based in Shanghai)
Description
Responsible for achieving lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for Desktop Power Supply and Adapters. Responsible for developing sourcing strategies and recommendations for Power Supply related to new products and new suppliers, and for making improvements to existing sourcing arrangements. Also, is responsible for global supplier price negotiations/contracting. Drives the company and suppliers to develop process improvements to maximize asset velocity and to reducethe company'stotal cost of ownership. Manages their specific commodity area as a business, with responsibility for improving quality, cost, availability, technology/ Time to Volume, and service.. Also, implementsthe company'sstrategic procurement initiatives with their suppliers to improvethe companyand supplier processes to achieve these goals. Identifies opportunities for commodity complexity reduction and escalates/make recommendations for operational efficiency.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the development of a three-year strategy and planning process (long-range roadmaps, capacity analysis, etc.).
- Organizes and leads cross-functional Global Commodity Management Team and aligns strategic roadmaps and metrics to achieve WWP business
- Manages, develops and releases RFQ to potential suppliers and makes recommendations to Global Commodity Management Team that support product cost targets and supplier diversity initiatives
- Lead Global Commodity Management Team in the selection of suppliers.
- Negotiate fact based product cost and contracts as appropriate.
- Contributes to RTS Readiness Review, post-mortem analysis, and process updates to support new products. Drives resolution for issues within the commodity
- Tracks and monitors new technology development and supports supplier integration with the company's strategy
- Drive alignment between Supplier roadmaps and the company's LOB roadmaps.
- Develops and drive strategies to improve overall supplier scorecard performance, including quality, cost, technology, and COS
- Report commodity and supplier performance on a monthly basis.
- Implement the company initiatives with supply base as required. Identify opportunities for supply chain optimization and implement as appropriate.
- Identify suppliers that provide relevant technology for products.
- Identify cost targets for relevant roadmap products.
- Develop Commodity Strategy Document and COS strategy for their commodity supply chains.
- Knows and understands the functionality of the WWP E-Tools that are appropriate for effectively performing their work (i.e. One cost tool, etc
- Performs and communicates supply chain cost forecasting based on trend analysis and market conditions.
- Develops, manages, and implements key projects to achieve strategic initiatives
- Perform clean sheet analysis in preparation for the negotiations
- Capture ideas during supplier workshops and size the cost reduction opportunities
- Role can scale based on tenure of candidate

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum: Bachelor Degree
- Preferred: MBA
- Experience: with +10 years industry experience in procurement/High Tech or electronics manufacturing Procurement or 2-4 years in a top-tier strategy consulting firm
- Record of success and top-tier achievement in prior work and education experiences
