Global Commodity Manager (Mechanicals)

DESCRIPTION

This position requires a commitment to work independently to drive change, and will primarily focus on Mechanical Components Sourcing on behalf of Katerra Lighting. As a Global Commodity Manager with Katerra Lighting, you will be working in a dynamic, fast paced environment working closely with Katerra Lighting R&D team, Sales team, Procurement Team, and external suppliers in the procurement of Mechanical Components to support our sourcing expertise corporate vision. Within our team environment, you will serve as the primary Supply Chain representative working on development of sourcing strategy, forecasting commodity pricing trend, making strategic buying decision, and conducting negotiation of pricing and contract terms and conditions for projects of various sizes to support these areas. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 
  Develop and maintain the corporate sourcing strategy for assigned commodities
• Manage relationships between all Katerra teams and all stakeholders
• Initiate, negotiate and maintain supplier agreements and pricing schedules
• Own the supplier selection process and profitability of assigned commodities
• Control material benchmark variance relative to PPV

• Own supplier relationship including development, costs, business terms, quality improvement, and performance evaluations (QBR)
• Communicate and follow-up on material request for quotes
• Negotiate for Commodity market advantages
• Ensure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvements in quality, cost, service and technology
• Set standard costs and work with cross-functional team as necessary to address material set-up, costing and price issues
• Ability to properly identify and escalate problem solving in supply execution
• Drive product specifications and innovations with Katerra Lighting R&D and Finished Goods Manufacturers in order to influence technical design decisions
• Own department ISO procedures related to vendor maintenance processes and annual reviews

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years of Mechanical Components Commodity Management experiences in EMS or LED Lighting industry
• Tooling or Mechanical Engineering major from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experiences
• Expertise in material application of Plastics Particles and various metal materials
• Extensive negotiation experiences of multi-year supply agreements with global suppliers and a proven track record of supply cost reduction
• Expertise with Microsoft office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
• Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
• Excellent financial, people management, negotiating and mentoring skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Working experiences of Tooling Design or Engineering in a EMS supply chain, or Consumer Electronics supply chain, or LED lighting Supply chain
• Aggressively Deliver Result in a professional approach
• Global Supply Chain experience managing cross functional teams in a fast pace and dynamic environment
• Experience with continuous improvement and Six Sigma processes
• ERP and PLM software system experience (SAP preferred)
