As the Global Diagnostic Lead DNA Damage Response (DDR), you will leverage your current diagnostic and clinical testing market experience to make an impact within AstraZeneca. This is an exciting office-based role with great scope to be entrepreneurial, to drive AstraZeneca’s class-leading DDR portfolio and ultimately bring significant value to patients and HCPs.

The Global Diagnostic Lead works to ensure the availability and timely implementation of high quality Diagnostic testing solutions to enable optimal treatment for patients. Reporting to the Global Diagnostic Director for DDR, you will support the development and delivery of our Global Diagnostic strategy and activities. An important element of this role is therefore to work collaboratively with the Marketing Company (Country) Diagnostic, commercial and medical teams, creating and executing tactical plans with a good understanding of clinical and operational issues that affect the testing pathway and test quality, developing tailored solutions as needed.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Development and delivery of global diagnostic activities, in line with global Diagnostic strategy
  • Working with the Marketing companies (MCs) to understand the challenges and support plans to overcome these with effective interventions
  • Manage key activities to address the need for high levels of quality in the relevant diagnostic tests such as EQA programmes and training events
  • Identify and overcome barriers to effective patient identification through partnerships with diagnostic companies, lab networks, policy makers and Health Care Professionals (HCPs)
  • Deliver technical data presentations for the purposes of internal training or to improve scientific understanding
  • Adhere to the AZ Code of Conduct, Standards, and SOPs as well as comply with all regulatory and compliance requirements for your role

Minimum Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Expertise in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel Globally

Preferred Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in life sciences
  • Experience in diagnostic market and clinical testing market; preferably Oncology experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience with a broad base of external customers including patients, prescribers, payers, providers
  • Strong leadership attributes to set direction, generate commitment, balance short and long term needs, constructively resolve issues
  • Project management experience
