Job Description Summary

BD Biosciences is looking for an energetic and dynamic Global Editorial Manager to join the BDB Global Marketing Communications team as an individual contributor. The Global Editorial Manager will be an integral part of the team, working closely with the Digital Content Manager, Program Managers and Platform Teams to develop & refine both print and digital content that is aligned with content marketing strategies, engaging, brand compliant and ensures a consistent, integrated experience that guides business buyers along the path to purchase.

The successful candidate must have a track record of strategic execution, collaborating cross-functionally, crafting succinct messaging for specific audiences in different media, and working as a team player in highly matrixed and lean organizations.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Work with BDB marketers to translate the business strategy into impactful externally facing materials that ensure alignment with the business objectives.
  • In collaboration with other marketers, develop new top-of-the funnel content such as: Emails, newsletters, landing pages, infographics, videos, white papers, webinars and social media content that is compelling and engaging.
    • Spearhead the entire content journey, from conceptualization to execution to activation managing deadlines along the way.
    • Track and optimize content performance for new content across search, nurture programs, website funnels, etc.
    • Understand key market trends, customer behaviors, customer needs and competitive information at a global and regional level and the ability to translate that information into actionable campaign tactics.
  • Creatively repurpose existing content into alternative formats to market through different channels for different audiences; such as  converting content featured in a scientific poster to content used on a landing page or a brochure.
  • Work closely with internal teams, thought-leaders, platform and regional marketing, SEO and design teams to balance needs and translate those needs into high-quality content.
  • Promotional material review:
    • Manage the pre-review of all global marketing written materials for both research and clinical products for SEO optimization, brand compliance i.e. style, quality and tone, editorial correctness and scientific accuracy.
    • Act as the Marketing Communications approver in the “promo mats” review process ensuring brand compliance and reviewing for trademarks.
  • Build collaborative relationships and leverage subject-matter experts internally and externally.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated success in B2B editorial, content marketing, product marketing or copywriting roles.
  • Experience writing for the web and other types of digital content, including a solid understanding of SEO techniques and best practices across digital platforms.
  • Excellent writing ability with strong editorial, copy editing and formatting skills.
  • Ability to convey scientific concepts and communicate key message in a clear and concise manner.
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-driven, with very strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Candidate should have knowledge of brand marketing, value proposition development and experience with competitive analysis.
  • Solid grasp of content measurement and an understanding of Google Analytics.
  • Team player with strong communication skills and a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple projects and aggressive deadlines with limited resources and in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Knowledge of flow cytometry, genomics, and/or the immunology space is a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in the life sciences or other relevant scientific discipline. Advanced degree preferred. Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in digital content strategy and tactics including content creation, editing, analytics, social media marketing and search engine optimization.
  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience in the life sciences industry and in writing /editing scientific documents / publications. Experience in a regulated environment and how to write for clinical audiences highly desired.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management and/or management of an in-house and outsourced team.
