About the role The Marine Services Practice Lead will be a member of the Global Siemens Customer Outcomes organisation. This is a group of talented engineers working at the forefront of next generation platform engineering related solutions. The Practice Lead will work alongside colleagues and customers to specify, implement, and deploy marine design processes, ensuring a successful outcome by leveraging the strengths of our marine solutions. You will be contributing to the success of a team of consultants, product specialists and account managers by increasing the adoption of our marine solution globally. The candidate is expected to have a deep understanding of shipbuilding and inter-disciplinary Marine design and manufacturing and should be a senior expert in the implementation of related software services. The role requires a passion for helping our customers achieve realized value, a vision for improving Siemens’ position and market share in the marine marketplace, and a drive for continuously improving the processes that we use to achieve successful implementations and customer outcomes. There should be the willingness to occasionally travel globally. This Practice sits within the Global Customer Outcomes organisation and will work extensively with the Zone Customer Outcomes delivery teams and our Product Segments. Preferred Location EMEA or AMS zones Area of responsibility Overall responsibility – This is a Global Role related to the implementation of marine design solutions. In this role the resource will be involved in complex, strategic programs that span across zones, and will be critical in enabling competent resources both internally and via partners Support the adoption of our ‘Advantedge’ deployment methodology across marine services globally Promote re-usable learning programs, knowledge transfer, and enablement Support large strategic implementations globally Provide best practices for global program pursuits and delivery Bill time in strategic projects as a Product / Solution Architect Support enablement through training delivery, mentoring, support, etc. Your Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience BSc degree (or equivalent) in Naval Architecture, Marine / Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related field is required. MSc degree preferred. 5+ years’ experience in the principles, practices and techniques of marine design processes, including understanding of key issues faced by customers. Understanding of end-to-end ship design processes and challenges. Deep understanding of how product lifecycle and product data management (PLM/PDM) systems can manage Marine design processes and associated data. Experience with commercial and Naval shipbuilding business cases Strong background and experience with shipbuilding structural, mechanical, routing and electrical design tools Candidate must be self-motivated and able to work independently but collaboratively and be able to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving product and technical environment. Experience in marine related technologies and platforms, and knowledge of key trends in marine software solution deployments Understand/write English technical documents (Business level) Ability to synthesize and formulate broad, enterprise level functional requirements into concrete solution specifications Strong customer interaction, technical communication, and presentation skills Willingness to travel up to 50%.
