AstraZeneca is aiming to help create a safer future for all and sustaining long term COVID disease control.  Opportunities to develop and implement brand strategies, marketing and promotional campaigns, market access and patient services programs, and support medical and policy program development and other critical needs are being identified across our global and local marketing company teams.

Individuals with demonstrated commercial success (marketing, sales, and market access/policy development), global and local launch experience, and vaccines/infectious disease backgrounds will be the foundation of our capability builds. Additional required experience includes knowledge across a broad base of external customers and stakeholders, effective cross-functional project team leadership, and generating commitment among stakeholders and deliver effective commercial strategies.

The role is based in Wilmington, DE.

What you’ll do

  • Support to deliver the commercial brand strategy and positioning for COVID-19 products, including branded and unbranded campaign delivery, payer/access, supply strategy to achieve patient and business goals and objectives.

  • Implement/execute pre-launch and launch activities for COVID-19 products to drive and deliver global launch performance across markets, as point of contact in global brand team

  • Collaborate with key team members to develop long range plans, brand strategic plans, and business performance reviews, to inform internal and external stakeholders and communications.

  • Continue to drive patient centricity and innovation through all aspects of COVID-19 products’ global commercialization and marketing programs.

  • Appropriately manage governance interactions and alignment across senior and regional leadership, cross-functional teams, and other key stakeholders to provide well-coordinated input into critical business decisions.

  • Engage a best in class cross functional organization to become a respected leader while cultivating an inclusive high-performance environment that values and leverages diversity

Essential for the role

  • Bachelor’s degree is required with scientific experience

  • 5+ years of Pharmaceutical or Healthcare experience

  • 5+ years of Experience in Marketing

  • Successful product launch experience

  • Demonstrated influencing skills and stakeholder management

  • Experienced and comfortable working in a matrix environment

  • Understanding of, and adaptable to, working across different countries and cultures

  • Experience engaging with teams remotely

  • Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills, demonstrating flexibility and a proven ability to deal with complexity under high intensity and time pressure situations

  • Experience and effectiveness in the presentation of written and verbal business cases to the senior management

  • Strong business and financial acumen

  • A flexible, team orientated attitude, willing to contribute one’s own skills to deliver AZ priority projects

Desirable for the role

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred
