Job Description

Position Overview:

Eaton's Hydraulic Filtration Division has an opportunity for a Global Materials Manager.  This position will be based in our Eden Prairie, MN location.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, this person has direct responsibility for leading and facilitating all materials management and logistics elements for Eaton’s Filtration Division, supporting $250K in annual revenue across 8 manufacturing sites, 1 distribution center, and 4 3PL supported facilities.  This role has functional ownership for planning, scheduling, logistics, transportation, and warehouse / inventory management, and also acts as a liaison with local, divisional, sector, and corporate leadership to champion process and systemic continuous improvement initiatives for the supply chain function supporting Filtration Division considering Industrial Sector and corporate supply chain strategies. This role reports directly to the Filtration Global Operations Director.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates, leads, and facilitates all materials management activities for the Filtration Division
  • Provides functional leadership for and oversight of plant materials, logistics, and warehouse personnel; provides ongoing guidance and supports to execute and improve key materials management processes, including (but not limited to) SIOP, PFEP, production planning / scheduling, capacity management, inventory management and transportation / logistics (including GTM and compliance)
  • Serves as an effective leader and role model for site materials managers and affiliated teams; defines and deploys initiatives promoting employee development and improving skills and competencies
  • Champions EBS materials management disciplines by and through the OpA and MMA processes; supports deployment and enhancement of best-in-class materials strategies including (but not limited to): supplier relationship management (SRM) and integration, SIOP, inventory management tactics (e.g. min-max, Kanban, shop floor materials controls) and improving overall materials management processes and mechanics, inclusive of shortening the end-to-end supply chain and improving customer integration; ensures that ongoing approaches used are synergized to business and overall SCM goals and objectives
  • Owns and facilitates division global transportation and logistics activities; sponsors continuous improvement and cost-out initiatives designed to increase efficiencies and improves functional processes to achieve business goals
  • Directs management and oversight of Fitzgerald, GA distribution center; provides oversight and direction to Pune P2P and materials SSC Filtration support team

Position Criteria

  • Practical understanding of both strategic and tactical / shop-floor oriented materials management disciplines
  • Effective communication and conflict management skills, with the ability to navigate the organization effectively and influence for results
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to mine data to draw meaningful conclusions and guidance for decision-making
  • Collaborative, team-oriented attitude geared towards supporting Eaton’s “Power of One” culture
  • Ability to lead teams in development and implementation of initiatives in a diverse and matrixed organization
  • Communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written with the ability to make necessary status updates and report-outs to division leadership

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of materials and/or supply chain management experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in leading, developing, and coaching a team
  • Manufacturing industry/environment experience
  • APICS CPIM certification
  • Experience in MRP, MPS, Min / Max, SIOP and other basic SCM tools and practices
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in leading supply chain teams
  • Prior experience with MFGPro
  • Prior manufacturing / plant experience in supply chain in an industrial and/or ETO setting
  • Prior exposure to and / or leadership of Lean / Continuous Improvement activities
  • Certified Eaton OpA assessor in materials management

Education:

  • An undergraduate degree is required.  A Master’s degree is preferred
