Global Medical Operations is looking for a Senior Manager of Medical Operations who will drive development and implementation of solutions including system enhancements for key capabilities, process improvement or development solutions, technology delivery solutions and training development and delivery.

Reporting to the Director Medical Operations, this global position will deliver by building and cultivating strong relationships with key partners in a highly matrixed team environment including the Information Systems partners, data & analytics partners, off-shore support team, cross functional stakeholders and the business user community.

This individual achieves results through detailed goal and prioritization setting, development and adherence to accountability measures, cultivation of strong cross-functional collaborations, and a continuous improvement approach. The chosen individual is committed to serving customers both inside and outside of the medical organization. The preferred candidate will have strong pharma experience in medical campaign analytics, engagement planning and performance optimization. The individual will need to convey complex analytics to senior leadership teams through concise visuals and presentations. The candidate should be able to demonstrate data and analytics to derive recommendations to optimize multichannel engagement in a global setting. In addition to sophisticated analytical abilities, this individual should demonstrate excellent leadership and diplomatic skills, especially for coordination across regions and teams within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with capability lead to evaluate needs and co-create groundbreaking innovative vision and strategies, identify gaps and streamlining opportunities
  • Drive the development and timely implementation of capability plans (annual goals, priorities, and road map)
  • Drive performance management activities for the capability in alignment with guiding principles and strategies (eg, Medical, Capabilities, R&D), including standardization, optimization, quality & timely delivery of processes, platform technologies, and analytics solutions. Proactively identify and continually evaluate external digital health and data asset trends and internal capabilities that may be leveraged as fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the assessment & prioritization of changes, as well as for the business process and be a positive and strong change agent to continually seek out innovative ways to pragmatically expand digital capabilities and be viewed as a digital leader with the organization. Maintain pulse on the highly dynamic and fast-paced digital technologies and innovation industry; partner with technology companies to match capabilities with internal business needs.
  • As a strategic partner to the capability lead, accountable for delivering insightful solutions and implementing changes through strong and proactive stakeholder partnership by contributing digital health insights and strategy recommendations in alignment with capability plans.
  • Recruit, hire, develop and mentor staff members
  • Lead the process for developing and ongoing maintenance of the blueprints and role-based curriculums in partnership with the Capability Leads & identified SMEs
  • Proactively identify program risks and implement and manage mitigation plans as needed (eg, budget, timelines) & effectively communicate to Leadership teams, develop best practices for delivering digital solutions and ensure awareness and consistency of tactics and opportunities across the Medical.
  • Accurately manage budget & deliver forecast

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree & 2 years of directly related industry experience OR
  • Master’s degree & 6 years of directly related industry experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree & 8 years of directly related industry experience OR
  • High school diploma / GED & 12 years of directly related industry experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in life science, computer science, business, or related field
  • For people manager: 2 years of managerial experience, directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
  • 8+ years’ work experience in information technologies/information systems, analytics platforms and reporting technology and pharmaceutical industry
  • Previous management experience of direct reports and oversight of information system vendors
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry guidelines and legal/health system environment skills
  • Understands medical affairs, drug development and commercialization process
  • Operations experience within a biotech, pharmaceutical or CRO company
  • Toolsets/skills required to drive organizational change
  • Finance and budget management experience
  • Knowledge of SOPs, good clinical practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Strong understanding of principals of customer service as it applies to internal customers and external partners
  • Strong understanding and experience in the use of performance management techniques, measures, problem solving and analytical thinking
  • Advanced skills in application software and analytical development methodologies in a validated system environment
