The Division Operational Excellence (OPEX) Manager is responsible for leading the development of Filtration division capabilities in the area of continuous improvement in all functions of the business (manufacturing and non-manufacturing). This role is a hands-on position with a focus on developing organizational capability, teaching and transferring best practices, and acting as the champion of standard Eaton processes. Key responsibilities of the role include driving the sites to world class performance by improving maturity on site Operations Assessments (OpA) and developing a sustainable CI culture across the division. Key metrics for the position are lean and indirect cost out. Your key deliverables: Lead the development and deployment of the CI strategy ensuring alignment with the Filtration business priorities Develop plans to achieve lean and indirect cost out in line with profit plan; collaborate with regional Eaton teams to seek support for sites Advance maturity level of Operations Assessment at all sites. Provide guidance and leadership to the sites Partner with the business, plants and functional leadership teams to develop plans and facilitate EBS-Pull process deployment to meet Eaton standard processes and business goals by leading the development and implementation of the Eaton Business System (EBS) at the sites. This includes setting the strategy, defining actions, and leading cross-functional activities (coordinating with other internal Eaton tools and processes such as ELSS, EBE, EQS, MESH) Sponsor and facilitate CI events at the sites including Integrated Deck Building workshops Strengthen CI organizational structure to support strategic initiatives and integrate functional needs into the development of short and long range operational plans Provide a focal point for consolidation of regional performance and provide leadership in helping the businesses recognize and adopt best practices Utilize EBS tools to eliminate waste while driving customer satisfaction, cost reduction, and improved working capital performance Drive a high standard of deployment of the tools ensuring consistency and quality of CI efforts Promote and advance EBS processes (ELSS, EQS, MESH, MMA, PROlaunch) via training, mentoring and provide train-the-trainer leadership across the region Represent the division on Eaton CI/Opex steering committees, councils or task forces Qualifications Are you? Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited university At least 8 years of combined experience in manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, quality, lean manufacturing, or operational functions (meaning roles that influence results in the areas of quality, delivery, inventory, productivity, continuous improvement) At least 3 years of experience managing people Prior experience with change management and process deployment Knowledge and experience with Quality Systems, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methods, approaches and tools, including strategic management and project management English language skills Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Six Sigma Blackbelt Certification (or other Lean Manufacturing or Quality System certification) Prior experience on the leadership team in a manufacturing facility Prior experience in the automotive industry or an engineer-to-order business Knowledge and experience with Business Excellence process / criteria e.g.the Malcolm Baldridge Award Knowledge and experience with the deployment of Eaton’s EBS tools and processes (EQS, ELSS, OpA, EBE) Position Criteria: Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others Effective oral and written communication skills, analytical skills,and organizational/planning skills Ability to manage by influenceBS degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA/CMA/MBA preferred or equivalent local professional qualifications Minimum of nine years of professional experience Sound working knowledge of SOX, US GAAP and local statutory requirements Technical capability to prepare, analyse and interpret financial and operational data/reports Good superior analytical and thinking skills; Intellectual rigor and curiosity; problem-solving capability Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities often with demanding time constraints Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to motivate and help direct the organization; exhibits managerial courage in defending a position and handling conflict Strong verbal and written communication abilities to achieve clear alignment between plant and region/division Strong change management leadership skills required to drive environment of continuous improvement Solid professional presence and confidence required to interact and command respect from Plant Leadership team Fluent English Then we want to hear about you!
