Responsibility:
• Packaging Engineer Responsibilities: - Develop packaging solutions for
Lenovo DCG products.
• Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving designs,
materials, and processes and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective
solutions.
• Participate with NPI and development teams to support new product
introduction.
• Work with global MFG locations to facilitate packaging introductions and
process improvements - Work with global suppliers to introduce new designs,
materials, and maintain supplier packaging quality.
• Identify and implement cost savings initiatives related to packaging
materials, transportation, and process efficiency.
• Maintain packaging bills of materials for WW products - Evaluate new
packaging suppliers/vendors and conduct vendor reviews.
• Write and maintain packaging process instructions for Global Manufacturing
sites design and test experience
#### Position Requirements:
• Strong critical thinking, innovation and problem solving skills
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment
• Great communication skills both verbal and written, English proficiency
• Team player with good interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated and driven to perform.
• Ability to work independently in a lab environment
• Ability to travel up to 25% both domestic and international Preferred:
• Experience working in a packaging lab environment
• Knowledge of dynamics (shock/vibration)
• 2D and/or 3D modeling experience
• Experience with protective packaging design and materials-
• Degree in packaging Science, or related engineering field – 2 - 5 years
packaging experience
• Proficient in English language (spoken and written)
