Job Description

The Global Medical Organization leads the integration of functional and geographic expertise and product strategy into the global medical affairs plan and product network decisions

This Hematology Global Platform Medical Director position is responsible for:

  • Support platform-specific (Hematology) ex-US (JAPAC) market Medical strategy, programs and activities (e.g. launch readiness, pipeline, clinical and LCM, data dissemination, OL engagement)
  • Shape strategies to develop and disseminate Medical information that support appropriate use of Amgen products globally
  • Support prioritized platform-specific ex-US needs with ongoing Medical activities and coordination of resources
    • Provide feedback & support clinical programs (e.g. CDP, key evidence generation); support development with pipeline trial execution
    • Engage OLs on Medical topics and sci. discourse to ensure appropriate patient outcomes
    • Coordinate, prioritize, and manage communication/requests from Global cross-functions to affiliates and from affiliates to global
    • Partner with markets and GRAAS to support regulatory and compliance issues which may require global attention
    • Communication and integrate actionable scientific insights into global strategy

  • Support execution of programs and integrate Medical input globally
    • Connect platform-level in-market medical issues or questions with Global capability clusters
    • Support shaping of healthcare ecosystem to ensure positive patient outcomes and implement Globally led disease state education
    • Support launch readiness, LCM and evidence generation
    • Partner with MSL teams on integrating strategic insights to deliver Medical inputs into relevant cross-functional platform strategies

Basic Qualifications

MD/PhD/PharmD AND Three (3) years of biopharma experience in medical affairs or clinical research

OR

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school with completed hematology/oncology fellowship

Preferred Qualifications

Hematological malignancies experience

Asia Pacific medical affairs experience

Experience with stakeholder engagement and interactions (eg. opinion leaders, advocacy groups, payers)

In-depth understanding of scientific method and clinical applications based on medical, scientific and practical rationale

Knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, product lifecycle and commercialization process with advanced understanding of other functions; including, but not limited to, Clinical research, Commercial, Regulatory, Real World Evidence and biostatistics

Sound scientific/medical judgment

Excellent communication skills

Track record of success working with matrix cross-functional teams
