Job Description

The vision of the Global Finance Services (GFS) Purchase to Pay (P2P) team is to make buying and paying effective and effortless for our business and to be the customer of choice to our suppliers. In order to deliver that we need to further simplify, standardise and automate our processes.

What you’ll do

This role will work very closely with the P2P process manager payables and the overall P2P Global process owner in providing aligned end to end process ownership, vision and strategy for end to end P2P. They will also need to work closely with their Procurement colleagues to provide a seemless series of services to the business. They will be required to represent and deputise for the global process owner and their payables counterpart.

  • Being the go to subject matter expert for purchasing (PO based and non PO) within the organisation

  • Defining the blueprint for how purchasing operational processes perform within end to end P2P and how to close any gaps to that standard

  • Developing the medium-longer term strategy for P2P and T&E along with the P2P GPO and the payables process owner, including how shared services is maximised

  • Working closely with the purchasing operational teams on improvement initiatives and corporate objectives, including defining a playbook for incorporating acquisitions within P2P

  • Enhancing data strategy for P2P and T&E alongside the P2P GPO and payables process owner and ensures high quality data to drive procurement and spend insights/analytics, operational

Essential for the role

  • Deep purchasing subject matter expertise, that must includes both operational purchasing (purchase order based) and tactical sourcing/procurement knowledge

  • Demonstratable experience in positioning and leveraging purchasing tools and capabilities such as purchasing platforms, supplier and content management, e-auctions

  • Conceptual, analytical and strategic thinking ability

  • Able to set and manage priorities, resources, performance targets and project initiatives in a global and regional environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Willingness to travel

  • Ability to influence strategically and persuade tactfully, to obtain desired outcomes while maintaining effective, positive, organisational relationships


Desirable for the role

  • Experience of running similar sized multi location shared service function

  • Familiarity with the latest research and thinking

  • Effective problem and conflict resolution skills and proven team focus

  • T&E SME

  • Lean or other process efficiency experience
