The Power Grids business delivers products, systems, service and software solutions as part of its comprehensive power & automation offering for the grid across the power value chain - serving utility, industry, transportation and infrastructure customers.
ABB's High Voltage Products team provides products which help enhance the safety, reliability and efficiency of power networks while minimizing environmental impact. Our technology leadership continues to facilitate developments in areas such as ultra-high-voltage power transmission, enabling smart grids and enhancing eco-efficiency.

As the Global Product Group (GPG) Communications Manager, you are responsible to lead the GPG internal and external communications programs across geographies and stakeholder groups to maximize visibility and support execution of business strategy, thereby contribute to improve market position and customer retention. You are also responsible to ensure executional excellence in all communications measures for the global business and support business management in all communications matters. You will report directly to the Global Business Line (BL) Communications Manager, BL High Voltage Products

Your responsibilities

  • Developing GPG integrated communication plans, budgets and processes in close collaboration with GPG management, product management, R&D, Marketing and Sales in alignment with business priorities.
  • Providing strategic and operative communication support regarding introduction of new technologies/new product launches in coordination with marketing managers and product managers.
  • Responsible for GPG/product level advertising, multimedia, digital tools, videos, presentations, infographics, brochures, posters etc. according to ABB’s brand guidelines.
  • Responsible for media relations and content - editorial and writing of press releases, trade media stories and blogs.
  • Maintaining a library of GPG related photos and film shoots, image bank, graphics and product documentation in ABB Library.
  • Managing the planning and organization of events (ABB events, industry events, webinars), and produce post-event reports.
  • Managing GPG external websites (pages, structure, content, layout etc.) and social media initiatives.
  • Responsible for internal communications including messages, internal websites, stories, organization announcements, newsletter etc.
  • Secondary responsibility to provide communications support to hubs within the BL and to BL Communications Manager as required.

Your background

  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Engineering or other relevant related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with proven track record, and an interest in technology
  • Strategic, analytical and creative thinking combined with hands-on approach to translate plans to actions and monitor the report on progress
  • Cross functional communication skills (i.e internal, external, media, digital, marketing communications)
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Proactive, result-oriented with strong networking and communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to details
  • Business knowledge in power/industrial technology an advantage
  • International experience an advantage
  • Fluency in English - both spoken and written. Other languages are an added advantage
