Our organization, The Corporate Quality & Strategy group owns, improves and sustains the global Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS) and processes to enable efficient delivery of safe and effective medicines to patients, meeting global regulatory expectations and enable a strong quality culture.

Our team provides global leadership in delivering new ways of working that proactively integrates in quality into our supply chain advancing beyond our compliance license to operate. We are accountable for the following areas:

  • Issues Management Team
  • Global Quality Control
  • Global Stability
  • Quality Business Performance
  • Quality Digital Strategy and enterprise systems

What you’ll do

As our Global Quality Business Process Owner you will practice your strong working knowledge of Quality Control (QC) with both breadth and depth of the inner workings in QC. You will lead a global operation setting policy and driving an operational strategy that supports our supply chain strategy. The strategy developed must be compliant, efficient, scalable, flexible and adaptive to an ever-changing environment. This role reports to the Head of Global Quality Control (QC).

As a Global Business Process Owner (BPOs) you are our key operational leader and in this role, as the BPO of Quality Control your core activities will include:

  • Engage & lead a global QC network while representing QC as the subject matter expert (SME) providing direction to the QC network including setting policy, standards, developing processes, driving operational excellence, disseminating training materials, etc.
  • Being accountable for operational performance and governing the QC network using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) delivering not only a best in class QC operation, but an operation that delivers on the supply chain’s strategic initiatives.
  • Establishing and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement collaborating across all disciplines in the supply organization actively seeking feedback from key stakeholders

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Actively monitor QC processes key indicators of process performance including internal and external audit observations, issue management, deviations, complaints and trends
  • Create and direct improvement initiatives that will support QC’s global strategy. Projects shall focus on ensuring compliance, driving efficiencies, adopting emerging technologies, delivering error proof processes
  • Actively monitor the external environment for potential trends and changes in industry expectations

Essential for the role

  • Experience in leading commercial QC labs or leadership roles in commercial QC testing
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with 10 years’ experience working cGMP regulated Quality Control laboratory
  • Minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Quality Control laboratory systems and processes such as: testing, sampling, data review, metrology, computer system validation (CSV), investigations, change control, data acquisition, data storage, and etc. in some combination thereof.
  • Ability to communicate QC’s strategy and influence key stakeholders to gain alignment and support.

Nice to have for the role

  • Preferred minimum of a BS degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Microbiology
  • Preferred 10 years’ experience working in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in leading transformational change programs across global Quality Control networks
  • Preferred individual who’s worked in Quality Control and Quality Assurance
