Global Reward Insights Lead

Working as the lead for the Global Reward Insights Team, as part of the Global Reward & Inclusion Centre of Excellence, we are looking for someone who will drive the Global vision and strategy for the delivery of insight into reward data and tends which will influence strategic thinking, policy development and decision making across the organization.

Critical requirements include the ability to lead a team of experts who develop innovative solutions to support complex business challenges.

The successful person will be able to combine their knowledge and experience in reward with a digital mindset to produce engaging and meaningful insights.  With a curiosity for knowledge, a natural communication style, excellent analytical capability, an eye for detail and the ability to translate technical analysis into useful, business focused information, the person will be able to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the HR community.

Focus & Challenge:

Team Accountabilities:  

  • To work in partnership with members of the Reward & Inclusion CoE to proactively understand business challenges, as identified globally, regionally and locally, and how reward insight can support decision making.
  • To be the team of experts who combine internal data and external market trends to provide context for strategic reward decisions.
  • To own and manage the Astrazeneca job framework and evaluation of roles.
  • To ensure that there is insight support for global processes (e.g. Annual Salary Review, Performance).
  • To ensure there is insight support for ad hoc requests from the business.

Insight & Reporting Accountabilities:

  • Ensure consistent, high quality job analysis and evaluation, reward benchmarking, analysis of reward surveys and annual salary budgeting data is provided by the team.
  • Work with the Reward Partners to proactively review country alignment to global policy and market practice.
  • Continuously develop tools and platforms, taking advantage of automation where possible, to provide accurate and timely information in a useable and accessible format for stakeholders. 
  • With the team, continuously build a strong understanding of industry dynamics (e.g. job market trends, legislative requirements) and proactively identify challenges these may bring to the organisation.

Team Leadership Accountabilities

  • Lead the team to act as an expert resource in providing analytics and insights into market trends in the context of Total Reward and business strategy.
  • Manage and lead the implementation of insight tools and platforms, identifying future opportunities for improvement, simplification and efficiency.
  • Work towards providing insight into the market competitiveness of Total Reward at AZ with a short-term focus on key elements e.g. base pay, short-term incentives to inform budgeting activity and annual reward decisions.
  • Work with the Reward Partners, HR and business leaders to provide expert input to job evaluation and matching.
  • Ensure the job framework is continuously developed to reflect business requirements.

Candidate Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Team Development & Leadership

  • Experience of developing and managing a team in a matrix environment;
  • Experience of working in a global organisation environment across reward practices in different regions;
  • Experience in delivering technical reward information in a simple and engaging way across countries to non-technical groups;
  • Experienced in developing individuals to work with ambiguity to develop structured ways to deal with unusual challenges and issues;

Data Handling / Analysis:

  • Highly competent in handling large quantities of data and producing insights with a keen attention to detail and focus on data accuracy;
  • Thinks analytically and effectively problem solves using creative solutions.

Reward Knowledge & Experience

  • Brings up to date knowledge of external reward and performance management practices (local, regional, global) to the analysis of internal data, to challenge the AZ approach while acting as an expert resource providing advice and guidance;
  • Has an awareness of legal and consultative frameworks across countries and the impact upon development of C & B practices;
  • Seen as an expert by the business in all matters relating to the market data insights, advising reward partners and HR teams on all issues.

Software / Other Experience

  • Experience in using technology and innovative solutions as tools and platforms to deliver a positive stakeholder experience.
  • Well-developed communication, organisation and interpersonal skills;
  • Enjoys working as part of a lively and hard-working team, performing together to meet deadlines;
  • Able to manage competing tasks efficiently and prioritise workload within a matrixed team environment.

Other – general

  • Excellent ability to engage, influence, negotiate with major stakeholders
  • Able to communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken

Other – qualifications

  • Degree Educated or equivalent; Master’s degree in related field
  • Experienced in using a range of reward surverys – submitting data, extracting and analysing data
  • Experienced in the use of a variety of job evaluation tools
  • Expert user of excel / database management
  • Project management skills
  • Competent in a full range of mathematical calculations/activities relevant to the area of work
