Electrical Global Supplier Engineering Co-Op

The program covers a six-month duration which provides a deep learning experience. All positions report into the Manufacturing Global Supply Chain organization located at the Corporate Center in Framingham, Massachusetts, about 35 minutes outside Boston.

Position provides:

Opportunity to explore Bose’ end to end supply chain, including exposure to New Product Introduction, Commodity Management, Logistics, Planning, Marketing, Product Development, Program Management, and Strategy.

An opportunity to receive Yellow Belt certification and provide value to the organization through your certification project.  The project is intended to evaluate Bose core competencies and establish actionable areas for improvement.  This includes gathering and analyzing the appropriate data, preparing a report of findings and recommendations and, in some instances, presenting to the department and implementing approved recommendations. 

Job summary & Key Responsibilities

As an Electrical Global Supplier Engineer you will be supporting activities required to evaluate and qualify suppliers and commodities such as microphones, batteries, integrated circuits, and printed circuit boards.

The Global Supplier Engineering Co-op Program gives you a chance to gain the inside track on a unique and rewarding work experience. Our goal is to make your or co-op experience exciting and meaningful—a valuable opportunity to have a direct impact on the quality and delivery of Bose products.

Working collaboratively with the commodity supply base, you will lead supplier engineering activities focused on new component development from concept through launch.

Support Corporate development teams to ensure seamless integration of new components into Bose new products

Work with suppliers on 8D problem solving reports

Participate on Six Sigma and Lean projects

Work with suppliers on PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)

Implement automated reports in Excel

Strong interaction with suppliers, engineering teams and business units

Skill Requirements

Mathematics, Science or Engineering Major preferred

Proficient at analyzing data to identify trends, and the ability to distill and organize the information into clear, usable formats

Effective communication skills, including the ability to discuss complex technical issues with both experts and non-experts

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Some of the core processes you will learn about include Design for Manufacturability, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Risk Assessment, and PPAPs amongst other.
