Major Responsibility:

• Conduct industry and market research for assigned commodities to develop sourcing strategy, manage supplier pool to make sure vendors can best meet Tesla’s requirements of cost, quality, service, scale, and technology.
• Negotiate contract and rate, provide analysis of requirements and pricing to ensure the most cost-effective options.
• Work on “Lean” initiatives, identify sourcing efficiencies via benchmarking, competitive quotes and resourcing; drive process improvement.
• Maintain day-to day purchasing operations (review PO, issue RFx, respond to supply shortage, logistics etc.), act as the lead point of contact for all commercial issues.
• Analyze spend as well as forecast and savings by commodity/business.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability, with at least five (5) years working experience in supply chain or purchasing. Excellent analytical and judgment skills. Strategic Sourcing, cost structure analysis, and strong negotiation with highly effective communication skills is a must.
• IT Hardware and Storage procurement experience is a plus.
• Ability to evaluate and develop solid supply base with manufacturing background; Familiar with major manufacturing processes and basics of quality system requirements; Understand factory demand of material control and planning process.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with various cross functional teams across APAC.
• Team player and with strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent in English verbal & written.
• Advanced Excel skill is a must have, SQL & Tableau is a plus.
• Willingness to travel, about 10~20%.
• Have a highest degree of integrity
