This is a Global Technical Support Specialist role reporting to the Technical Support Team Lead in the Business Area – Motion, Service located in Beijing, China. As a Service Support Specialist, you will provide technical assistance to internal and external customers. You will ensure timely and cost-effective support in accordance with standard processes, procedures and safety guidelines.
Your responsibilities
- Working directly with Local ABB or end user on the inquiry through SFDC.
- Organizing the kick-off meeting session for new MVD commissioning, coordinating case escalation to factories (retrieving all info and summarizing case history), and sharing feedback to factories on product and process issues.
- Participating in the 24/365 hotline for MVD technical support, preparing the expert report timely according to remote service contract.
- Attending regular exchange meeting between COE and follow the sun, to get to know people and processes.
- Working on know-how accumulation, by creating knowledge articles for common know-how.
- Actively supporting FTS center and local ABB to gain skills and know-how, for example by holding presentations during Service Expert Days and regular sharing webinar.
- Creating and developing good team spirit, applying safety rules and safe practices as well.

Your background
- Must have bachelor’s degree in electrical or Automation Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as service specialist.
- Customer focused attitude.
- Must have knowledge of motion service digital offering, technical know-how on product and process portfolio of MV drives and knowledge of ABB health and safety operating procedures.
- Ability to be flexible and work in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and within ABB, including good English skills. A quick learner, to recognize re-occurring fault patterns, thinking and acting systemically.
