Overview
We are looking for an experienced Global Trade Compliance Specialist for this new created position based our production site in Roskilde, Denmark.

As our new Global Trade Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring all import and export activities are completed in compliance with applicable government rules and regulations. 

How will you make an impact?
You will support the Senior Global Trade Compliance Manager by helping to develop and maintain the
import and export compliance program at the site level for our Roskilde site. This includes, without
limitation, adherence to applicable Danish and US laws and regulations pertaining to international
trade as well as ensuring compliance with Thermo Fisher Scientific corporate policies. In addition, this
position will help set up import/export compliance programs in Joensuu, Finland and Newport, UK.

What will you do?
Keep abreast of pertinent regulations and respond accordingly to update all functions/personnel in the division that are affected by changes
Qualify products for Free Trade Agreements
Interface with freight forwarders, customs officers, custom brokers, and internal customers on all matters pertaining to import and export compliance
Determine harmonized tariff and dual use information for current and new products
Identify and analyze causes of international and domestic compliance issues and gaps and generate recommendations to management
Conduct post entry reviews of imports/exports and ensure recordkeeping
Monitors, measures, and reports Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Support country of origin determination and marking
Maintain and improve policies, and procedures to ensure site-wide compliance with regulations and corporate policy
Manage special projects as assigned

How will you get here?
Experience
5-7 years’ experience in trade compliance or similar function
Experience performing product qualifications for Free Trade Agreements

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Solid knowledge of Danish import/export regulations
Detail oriented with the ability to multitask, prioritize and be adaptable
Solid communication (written and verbal Danish and English) and organizational skills
Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly manipulate data and draw appropriate conclusions
Ability to interface professionally with all levels and functions of the organization
Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in order to implement GTC initiatives across cross-functional departments
Applies a sense of urgency to resolve problems and supports root-cause analysis
Ability to apply judgment and discretion
