Job Description

The Trade Specialist is responsible for the site trade compliance program for Intel entities in Japan and the Philippines. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the Intel business operation, including but not limited to technology and product development, sales and marketing, manufacturing, and supply chain activities. They shall engage actively with governmental authority and industry associations to drive facilitative import and export laws and regulations that support new technology development and the Intel new businesses.

Role Description

  • Manages the trade compliance for Intel business activities and BU engagement for Japan and the Philippines.
  • Manages the IJKK Internal Compliance Program, including bulk export licenses management, local ECCN classification determination, governmental reporting, processes definition, training, and METI audits.
  • Manages the IJKK Customs Compliance Program, including import licenses management, local HTS classification determination, customs valuation, training, and governmental audits.
  • Manages the contingent worker performing customer support for Japanese parameter sheets and related customer and supplier queries.
  • Manages trade-related requests to support MSO and Global Logistics team relating to Japanese equipment and manufacturing suppliers and finished goods warehouse shipments.
  • Provides trade-related support to their business execution for the Intel Philippines Sales and Marketing team.
  • Critical point of contact for government agencies such as METI JP, DTI PH, and Customs, and participates actively in the industry working group within CISTEC.
  • Work with Trade Legal Counsel on the development, implementation, and communication of relevant trade policies, processes, and internal training programs.
  • Lead the JKST - Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines Trade Operations team and support the other Trade Specialists in their local trade regulatory requirements as assigned
  • Support the Merger and Acquisition integration or Divestiture projects and other assigned projects

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position.

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor degree or equivalent degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in global trade regulations, particularly the Japan export controls, sanctions, and customs regulations.
  • Obtained a score of 800 and above in the TOEIC - Test of English for International Communications Listening and Reading Test where applicable.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong preference will be given to candidates with more than 7 years of global trade experience
  • Knowledge of the US Exports Administration Regulations and trade laws and regulations of other Asia countries is a clear advantage.
  • Passes the qualifying examination for registered customs specialists issued by the Ministry of Finance
  • Familiar with SAP GTS - Global Trade System modules
  • Supply chain or outsourcing manufacturing experience is a plus
  • People manager experience and experience in building and growing teams
  • Effectively manage people remotely in a highly dynamic and ambiguous environment

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
