Job Description

Government relations has never been more important to Intel's success and Global Government Affairs (GGA) is a pivotal group within Intel's Growth Acceleration Team (GAT) focused on a range of urgent policy issues like domestic manufacturing incentives, trade with China, IP protection, and other business-critical priorities.

We have an opening for a Summer Intern position on a fast-growing team shaping high-stakes policy decisions at a pivotal moment for our business, our industry, and U.S. technology leadership. The intern will work as a generalist to support GGA members in Washington, DC and on initiatives to shape policies that help Intel win against the competition, and ultimately advance American semiconductor manufacturing and technology leadership. The intern will be responsible for monitoring legislative developments, supporting the business on policy, and legislative issues. In addition, the intern will also support engagements with external partners, professional associations, and non-governmental organizations. The position reports to the Director of Government Operations and will receive direction from other GGA members as required.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/ classes/ research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in law, government relations, public policy,  political science or related field.

  • Must have completed at least 50% of their bachelor’s degree

  • Government relations/policy understanding

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A keen understanding of policy process as well as the technology industry

  • Experience creating and effectively delivering factual, relevant, and easily understandable talking points and other messaging

This position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship.  Intel sponsors individuals for employment-based visas for positions where we experience a shortage of US Workers. These skills shortage roles are typically STEM contributing positions requiring a Master's or PhD degree, or a Bachelor’s degree with three years’ related job experience.  This position does not qualify for Intel Sponsorship because it is either (1) a non-STEM contributing position, or (2) a STEM position that only requires a Bachelor’s degree and less than three years’ experience.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
