• Proactively develop, maintain and leverage strong working relationship with key government officials and agencies at city and provincial level in locations where Nouryon has manufacturing facilities, and occasionally at national level;

• Be the primary point of contact and coordinator of Nouryon for key industry associations (including CPCIF, AICM, EUCCC, AmCham) and proactively seek opportunities of lobby and advocacy using these platforms on critical matters that might impact Nouryon, and build a strong network with other multi-national companies and trade associations;

• Represent Nouryon at all appropriate industry and government forums, conferences and events;

• Be the primary point of contact of Nouryon Businesses and sites in China on GA issues and opportunities and provide opinions and advice to business leadership, country management and site teams on interaction with gov’t;

• Coordinate with global GA Director to ensure continuity and consistency in Nouryon’s message both in China and other regions, and to develop and deliver training to promote GA awareness and best practices;

• Monitor, analysis and communicate development of key policies and gov’t legislative and regulatory initiatives that might impact Nouryon, including chemicals management, safety, trade, taxation, technology and talent;

• Lead the analysis of proposed legislative actions, determine the potential impact on the organization and develop appropriate responses;

• Develop and update gov’t stakeholder mapping with clear picture of roles & responsibilities that relate to Nouryon operations in China;

• Contribute to the central information system (e.g. FiscalNote) to keep it updated on key issues and policy initiatives of China.

Requirements:

• The successful candidate should have a solid track record of successful government affairs roles with 7+ years experiences in an international company, agency, consultancy or industry association.

• Experience in chemical or manufacturing industries will be a strong plus;

• Solid knowledge and insight of gov’t structure, function and working processes at local and central level;

• Policy analysis and advisory skills;

• Strong written and oral communication skills in both Chinese and English;

• Willingness and ability to travel as needed;

• Bachelor degree in business, public policy or related field.
