We are currently sourcing a Government Affairs, Patient Relations & Market Access Director to be part of our leadership team in our Citywest, Dublin affiliate. In this role, you will have a deep understanding of the political system and health care system in Ireland and the leverage points on decision making, including private and public system while establishing a consistent network with the most important stakeholders on the health care system and the policy makers bodies, to influence and represent AbbVie positions. You will develop and execute a comprehensive access strategy via engagement with influential payor, policymaker and patient organization stakeholders to secure an agile and effective access while ensuring AbbVie products obtain and maintain timely reimbursed access to the Irish market with optimal pricing through a solid knowledge and connectivity with the main stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: You will build/maintain strong, productive relationships between AbbVie and key access stakeholders through an active engagement plan Develop strategy and negotiate to ensure all products gain/maintain price and reimbursement; and all hospital products maintain listing within tenders. Serve as the SME for affiliate regarding health policy legislation and the impact of broader global/European economic and healthcare trends (e.g. CCC, Brexit, IP) that may impact policy decisions/actions in Ireland. Participate and support the affiliate on the IPHA related access forums and advise General Manager on related matters, such as IPHA agreement 2020. Support Patient Association advocacy related to medicines access, patient service levels aligned to their ability and intent. Support the development of the integrated market access strategy for each core brand in coordination with brand team members. Maximize the economic value argument of AbbVie products with key decision makers for current and pipeline products. Provide support to Medical to ensure appropriate HE outcomes are included in clinical plans to support pricing and reimbursement goals. As part of the Affiliate Leadership Team, ensure all company activities are conducted within the framework of the AbbVie Code of Business Conduct, the IPHA Code of Practice and applicable laws Be a Role model AbbVie’s People Leader Attributes within the division and across the affiliate. Coach and develop talent, set goals, conduct succession planning, execute performance management agenda in order to align people performance to business goals, business KPIs and to maximize business opportunities. Qualifications Education & Experience Master’s in health economics desirable or university degree, preferably in a related field such as economics, health economics, political science, public policy or health care with at least 10 years senior level experience in the healthcare / pharmaceutical industry, with direct experience in pricing / reimbursement and stakeholder management. Deep understanding of the healthcare system. Must include the needs, agendas, and interaction of all key stakeholders in government, legislature and influencing bodies. Has proven existing strong relationships at all levels of the access, policy and governmental system in the healthcare arena - Existing relevant network of key influencers in Ireland. Demonstrated strong negotiating skills at decision maker level, with proven capability in successfully influencing to desired outcomes. Deep knowledge of national political and public health policy. Experience in governmental/public health environment within the pharmaceutical or other pertinent health care industry is preferred. Proven ability to leverage knowledge of pan-european healthcare policy and access systems and incorporate into local strategy. Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to drive results.
