Government and Public Affairs Manager

Job Description
  • Works closely with the corporate Group Audit (GA), Regional Vice President’s (RVPs), Senior Management Team’s (SMT’s), and local Government Affairs (GA) teams to understand the government issues that are impacting their ability to protect and enhance the business in those markets
  • Identifies opportunities to enhance our businesses in those markets and work with the marketing Company President’s (MCP’s), GA professionals to align the activities with the global public policies and positions
  • Provides expert knowledge of the businesses into the Public Policy and Issues team to impact the public policy development on areas that are of high impact for the international region
  • Bring in external experts for experience exchange with payers/government officials
  • Leads our interactions with the outside agencies, trade associations as needed and other above market organizations that have a significant impact on our business in the Regions
  • Shares best practice across the Regions through establishing networks, regular communications and development of training materials as required
  • Develops engagement plans for the regions and ensure alignment of activities where required to achieve above country objectives
  • Lobbies at the above market level on key company issues with senior government officials, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and above market organizations (World Health Organization (WHO), World Trade Organization (WTO))
  • Leads within the region the building of company relationships of trust and confidence with external stakeholders
  • Develops, implements and measures the impact of the Government Affairs strategy
  • Takes a global leadership role in defined brand teams to ensure all policy issues are considered and action plans for the brands include engagement strategies for non-prescribing / Government customers
