Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. During this program, you will use single-molecule imaging methods and protein-dye conjugation methods to evaluate binding dynamics and nanoscale organization of BiTE molecules on T cells and tumor cells. This work ultimately aims to provide insights to maximize BiTE safety and efficacy profiles. Responsibilities will include:
- Optimize and characterize fluorescent labeling of BiTE molecules using single-molecule compatible dyes
- Independently design, perform, and analyze single-molecule BiTE imaging experiments, including troubleshooting and optimization of labeling and imaging assays
- Present data in team meetings

Basic Qualifications
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
18 years or older
Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Master’s program for a Master’s internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR PhD for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR Master’s OR Pharm D OR PhD program before internship starts
Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications
Degree concentration(s) in Biological or other Life Sciences Field
Experience in cell-based assay development
Knowledgeable, highly motivated, creative, and collaborative with strong verbal and written communication skills
Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture techniques
Basic experience with fluorescence confocal microscopy techniques
Experience with single-molecule imaging techniques is desirable but not required
Basic experience with programming and cellular image analysis (e.g. ImageJ, MATLAB, Python)
