Grad Intern – R&D (Translational Immunology - TS&BA)

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. During this program, you will join the Translational Immunology group within the Translational Safety and Bioanalytical Sciences (TS&BA) to do research on how nucleic acid-based therapies may be taken up by immune cells leading to unwanted effects on the immune system, termed immunotoxicity. You will design and conduct experiments, with the goal of developing and optimizing in vitro systems to test for the potential for these nucleic acids to be taken up by immune cells and understand downstream effects on the immune response.
Perform immunology research in the area of drug development
Coordinate with toxicologists to design and interpret studies and understand impact for preclinical research
Present results to wider internal audience

Basic Qualifications
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
18 years or older
Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Master’s program for a Master’s internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR PhD for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR Master’s OR Pharm D OR PhD program before internship starts
Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications
Pursuing a Masters or PhD in Immunology, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular and Cellular Biology or related field
Knowledge of cell culture, immune cell isolation, qPCR, flow cytometry and ELISA.
Strong communication skills
Ability to collaborate and work within a team
