Job Description
Are you a forward-thinking and aspiring undergraduate in your final year? Join our graduate programme and see for yourself how it differs from any other. Could this be the next exciting step on your journey to your career? If yes, start your graduate programme with us at Siemens Mobility! It has been recognised that in coming decades the whole UK railway system must be decarbonised to meet our climate commitments and to reduce the cost of operating the railway. This makes it a very exciting time to be joining railway electrification in the UK as new electrification projects are authorised and a new generation of protection and control systems for the electrification network are being developed. Watch this to find out more about what we do:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSTEVeFrKE8 This graduate role is to start this August and will be based in the Systems Design Team within Siemens Mobility - Rail Infrastructure based in Coventry. What else do I need to know? During your two-year graduate scheme, you will spend roughly one year working within your home discipline from the roles above. You will also have the opportunity to undertake two six-month long placements in other disciplines in electrification or elsewhere within Siemens Mobility. Depending on the placement, you may be working away from your contracted location for the length of these placements (funded by Siemens). In addition, you should be aware that there is a certain level of travel and staying away from home required for all roles. For the duration of the graduate scheme, you will take part in technical and professional training, with technical training delivered by the top engineers in the business over the course of several weeks. During these training weeks you will also have a chance to meet and challenge other early career professionals across Siemens Mobility and discuss different experiences, building connections for your burgeoning career. Expect to be given the freedom to test theories and designs, then to be challenged on them from the other members of the team. As Siemens is at the forefront of new technology, you will be able to learn about, in detail, the technologies that Siemens are developing to disrupt the way that transport is thought about in the UK.
