The Pre-Production Customer Engineer team is primarily responsible for deploying, and operating proof-of-concept and development installations that go far beyond traditional or current industry approaches. We specify and refine the requirements of hardware, automation, management, monitoring, protocols, and device operating systems. We create solutions that can be repeatedly deployed and operated at massive scale by applying a unique, multidisciplinary, practice to ensure the stability, scalability, performance, and operational success, often by building software systems that manage these aspects of the company's services. The role requires software and computer engineering knowledge to manage operational and reliability aspects of the systems being built, as well as platform and operating system knowledge, including resource management, networking protocol stacks, file systems, and monitoring.

Additional activities include, but are not limited to: presenting demos for trade shows around the world, acting as a product evangelist, program/project manager and a marketer, making sure that software products by leading software vendors (ISVs and corp. developers) run best on Intel's latest and upcoming platforms and technologies, writing code to improve software performance when used NVMe SSDs, working directly with high visibility customers to provide training and technical support, giving feedback to engineering on new feature requests, and developing and publishing performance analysis marketing collaterals and software application documentation.

Length of internship: Minimum of 3 months with the possibility to extend it as per business' needs.


Qualifications

Candidate must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must be pursuing a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

Minimum 6+ months of experience or equivalent coursework in the following areas:

  • Linux, Enterprise/Cloud Environments

  • Software/Script Development and Debug

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Customer Interfacing, Computer Hardware Setup, Caching Software, SSDs, NVMe, RAID, and Software Defined Storage

  • Experience in Project Management / Product Management / Product Marketing

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
