Job Purpose

The Media Services department at RWS provides transcription, subtitling, audio (voice over) and video localization solutions in over 80+ languages. We help our clients communicate with global audiences on time and with superior quality.

Due to rapid expansion in video services, we are looking for a highly motivated newly graduated linguist with a specialization in audio-visual to join our fast-growing global production team on an initial Intern 12 month FTC basis.  The successful applicant will join part of a dynamic team working on a diverse range of project types across some of the world’s biggest brands.  This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to start their career in media localization.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Transcription of media assets
  • Origination of subtitles
  • Transcription and captioning - Spotting of subtitles
  • Technical and Linguistic Quality control of subtitle files
  • Alignment
  • SDH
  • Coordinating delivery schedule with the team
  • Coordinating workflow with external resources as required
  • Vendors management and support to Supply chain for expansion of freelancers pool
  • Assisting senior team members with subtitling queries and requests
  • Assisting senior team members with ad hoc tasks including Audio script preparation

 

Skills & Experience

  • Language degree specialization in Audio-visual/ Screen Translation, or completion of one or more modules in this area.
  • English speaker.
  • Knowledge of 1 or more foreign languages.
  • Technical knowledge of subtitle formats, process, specifications, guidelines and software
  • Knowledge of Accessibility guidelines (SDH and Audio Description).
  • Organized with ability to prioritize.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive approach to deliver outstanding results.
