Job Description

HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT OFFICE 

Graduate Trainee (Ref. 20040301-IE) 

Programme Structure 

We invite a high-calibre candidate to join our Graduate Trainee Programme in the Health, Safety and Environment Office (HSEO). We are dedicated to provide a 24-month structured training and development programme to nurture talents to meet the long-term staff development plan of the Office. 

The graduate trainee will undergo an induction to acquire general knowledge of the University. He/She will receive extensive and intensive on-the-job training and build internal and external connection via rotation to various divisions in the HSEO and attachments to other designated offices/departments of the University. He/She will also gain a wide spectrum of job knowledge as well as develop effective people and management skills through project-based learning.

 

Mentor and Support 

Mentor and supervisors will be assigned to provide coaching, performance feedback, support and guidance to the graduate trainee throughout the Programme.

 

Professional Qualifications 

The graduate trainee will be supported to attain professional qualification(s) and other training related to Health, Safety and Environment aspects, where appropriate.

 

Career Advancement 

The Programme provides promising career prospects to the graduate trainee. He/She will be given a variety of challenging yet rewarding learning opportunities which aim to equip him/her with the required competencies for taking up executive/professional posts in the Office.

 

Qualifications 

Applicants should: 

(a) possess at least a master’s degree in Biology, Biological Science, Biomedical Science or related disciplines from a recognised University to cope with new research trends; 

(b) have good analytical and problem-solving skills as well as numerical reasoning; 

(c) be willing to learn, conscientious and highly motivated; and 

(d) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.

 

Remuneration and Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
